5 Feuds for Seth Rollins upon his return to WWE

At WWE Survivor Series 2020, Seth Rollins "sacrificed" himself for The Greater Good. During the 5-on-5 traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Match between Team RAW and Team SmackDown, Rollins was the first man to be eliminated even without engaging in the action.

On the back of a distraught loss to his former disciple Murphy on SmackDown, Seth Rollins offered himself to Sheamus, in what was one of the most bizarre Survivor Series eliminations of all time. Eventually, all it took was one brutal Brogue Kick for Sheamus to eliminate Rollins from the match.

The former Universal Champion's elimination on the night set the tone for the Red Team. Monday Night RAW ultimately clean-swept Team SmackDown without a single casualty and by the looks of it, the angle was executed in order to write Seth Rollins off TV. That being said, it was quite a fascinating way to do so and Rollins can now focus on his paternity leave.

However, with that being said, it will definitely be interesting to note in what manner WWE brings back Seth Rollins to TV. While several members of the WWE Universe are asking for Rollins to return as a babyface and drop The Messiah gimmick, it would totally be understandable if WWE picked-up Rollins' run from where it left off. But, upon his return to WWE, presumably in 2021, Seth Rollins definitely needs to undergo multiple new feuds.

This list takes a look at 5 feuds for Seth Rollins upon his return to WWE.

#5. Seth Rollins challenges for Sami Zayn's Intercontinental Championship

At WrestleMania 34, Seth Rollins first won the WWE Intercontinental Championship. In what is considered as one of the best babyface runs of the modern generation, Rollins' win at The Grandest Stage of Them All genuinely felt special.

A two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins could consider returning to the WWE and aim for his third. This would present WWE with the perfect opportunity to turn Rollins babyface once again and it would also make sense for him to feud against a heel Sami Zayn. The reigning IC Champion is regarded as one of the best heels in the business at the moment, as well.

#4. Kevin Owens would be a good "welcome back feud" for Seth Rollins

Earlier in the year, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens were engaged in one of the most exciting feuds of 2020. The two men eventually settled their issues at WrestleMania 36, in what could definitely be regarded as one of the best matches of the post-pandemic WWE era. On Night one of 'Mania 36, Seth Rollins would go one-on-one against The Prizefighter in a No Disqualification Match. The match, as expected, lived up to the hype and also witnessed KO diving-off the WrestleMania sign for an incredible spot executed on The Messiah.

On most occasions, Rollins and Owens have delivered and the blue brand could certainly use a not-so-lengthy feud between the two. A potential Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens feud would mean that the former would have to stick to his heel turn but regardless, the two former Universal Champions are expected to steal the show on any given day. After their brief exchange at Survivor Series, Kevin Owens would certainly be the proper return feud for Seth Rollins.

#3. Seth Rollins confronts a newcomer from NXT

The NXT brand is currently stacked with some of the best talents from all around the world and all around the Professional Wrestling circuit. While WWE has done quite an incredible job in lining-up a roster featuring this vast amount of talent under one brand, the main roster surely would welcome the addition of one or two such talented Superstars.

At this given moment, the majority of the NXT veterans have committed themselves to the black-and-yellow brand. For instance, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa being such examples. However, the NXT mid-card currently is filled with Superstars who could shine further on the main roster.

One certain name that comes to mind is the charismatic Kona Reeves. In NXT, Reeves has mostly been used as an enhancement talent, while the WWE Universe hasn't exactly been sold on the man. That's mostly due to the fact that the NXT brand is stacked with gargantuan figures and Reeves can't find a spot for himself to fit in.

On the main roster though, it could be a totally different scenario. Reeves is more than capable of playing the role of an annoying heel, whereas, Seth Rollins could do the work of confronting the former upon his return. A program with Rollins would be massive for Reeves.

#2. Seth Rollins vs. Big E could be a #1 contender's feud

Seth Rollins and Big E are arguably among two of SmackDown's biggest singles Superstars at the moment. While Rollins is much more experienced of the two, Big E is expected to be a breakout star in 2021. However, if WWE plays their cards right, they could have two monumental world title worthy contenders at the same time in their ranks.

Seth Rollins is a former multiple-time WWE World Champion and given Roman Reigns' dominance on the blue brand, it is almost expected of the former to get involved in the Universal Title picture at some point. While there shouldn't be a question of turning Reigns babyface once again, WWE could consider reversing Rollins' role and then have him challenge his former Shield brethren.

Interestingly enough, Big E is also destined to be the next big babyface on SmackDown. After all, there is a vital reason why WWE decided to break-up The New Day in favor of pushing Big E. Hence, a feud between Seth Rollins and Big E should be the title contender decider. The Messiah doesn't necessarily need to be a face in this feud and WWE could instead save the Rollins-Roman feud for later.

#1. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns turn back the clock with a Universal Title feud

Speaking of the Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins feud... By this point, it is almost common knowledge that this feud between the two former stablemates is inevitable. With Roman Reigns being on an absolutely dominant run on the blue brand, it is unlikely that The Tribal Chief will be stopped by any given Superstar from SmackDown at the moment.

With Jey Uso and Paul Heyman by his side, it almost seems guaranteed that WWE will head into WrestleMania 37 with Reigns as the Universal Champion. However, the big question that remains is, who will The Tribal Chief defend his crown against at The Grandest Stage of Them All?

While there are a few potential answers to that question at the moment, one man who certainly could hold the answer is Seth Rollins.

The highly-awaited Rollins vs. Reigns match is quite deservedly WrestleMania worthy. And with Reigns being absolutely dominant as a heel, Rollins could slowly craft his way towards another babyface turn. The story writes itself for WWE from here onwards and could be executed quite well in early 2021.
