5 Greatest WWE Superstars of the past decade (2010-2019)

This may be the most polarizing list I have written
This may be the most polarizing list I have written

Let me begin by saying that I respect the entire WWE roster for their dedication, for their everlasting zeal to entertain us. And so, to pick the 5 Superstars who had the most impact over the past decade is not a very easy task at all.

But as the decade draws to a close (there are those who say it will conclude at the end of 2020, but let's ignore them for now), I chose the mammoth task of identifying WWE's biggest superstars over the past decade. I realize that this will certainly be a very polarizing list and hence, I invite you guys to please leave a comment and let me know if you agree or disagree with my thoughts and my picks.

I am going to leave a few names out because obviously, they don't fit into this particular context. The New Day had a fabulous decade but at the same time, we're looking at individuals in this particular list.

Bray Wyatt was at his creative best through the decade, but not enough to warrant himself a spot here.

#5 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins was part of two of the biggest moments in the history of the entire decade. Not only did he cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase in the main event of WrestleMania, this is a man who also broke up The Shield. Night after night, the man also puts on some of the best matches in WWE.

Seth Rollins also has the distinction of defeating Brock Lesnar twice, which is not a feat that everyone is privy to. He took on Triple H at WrestleMania, and thereafter became The KingSlayer, something that became his gimmick for a long time.

Through Shield reunions and Dean Ambrose's heel turn, Rollins has always been in the limelight.

#4 Daniel Bryan

The overall impact of how Daniel Bryan has changed the WWE landscape cannot be understated. Of course, we remember all his achievements, from how WrestleMania became 'YestleMania' cheering him on to victory and we also remember him breaking the shackles of The Wyatt Family to rediscover himself, but Daniel Bryan's contributions go far beyond just that!

Daniel Bryan changed the perception of what a WWE Superstar is supposed to look like, opening doors for a wide variety of 'smaller' independent stars to earn a spot in the overall WWE landscape. He was also told that he would never wrestle again, but Daniel Bryan returned to defy all odds and went on to capture the WWE Championship as well.

And then, Daniel Bryan would channel his real-life feelings about the environment and become a heel, even getting his very own custom-belt from WWE. The man is never afraid to lose to younger talents, putting over the likes of Mustafa Ali when WWE deems it necessary.

He was also a part of KofiMania recently, which was a very significant event in its own right! There is no disputing that Daniel Bryan belongs on this list of top stars.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar was a name that many in the wrestling world were familiar with and when he returned in 2012, the world was shocked. Brock Lesnar was definitely a much bigger star in 2012 than he was in the year 2004, when he departed, primarily because of his stint in the world of UFC.

Lesnar proved, by hanging with some of the best in the world of MMA, that he was a legitimate fighter and this was an aspect that was used by WWE to book him in some memorable feuds across the duration of the entire decade. But Lesnar was also part of arguably the most newsworthy headline from the decade- ending The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

I know that a lot of WWE fans will be up in arms when they see Brock Lesnar mentioned in this list, ahead of names like AJ Styles and Becky Lynch. But the fact of the matter is that Brock Lesnar has always been in a prominent spot, through the course of the decade and almost always in the title picture as well.

His feud with Goldberg was pretty memorable too! Whatever Brock Lesnar has done has always made the news and how!

#2 Roman Reigns

Whether or not you like the man and the way that he's been pushed by WWE, it is impossible to deny that this decade belonged to The Big Dog. He was the muscle of The Shield, arguably the biggest faction of the past decade. And he's always been the anchor for whichever brand he's been on, taking over from John Cena as the face of the company.

But then, perhaps the most memorable moment of the decade was when Roman Reigns announced to the world that he was a real-life superhero, who had been battling cancer for the last eleven years. The day he returned to the ring again, the response was thunderous and since then, there's hardly been a time when he's been booed as badly as he used to be in the past. Roman Reigns also competed in the main event of 4 WrestleManias, and is, as you know, one of two people to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

The Big Dog rules the yard in WWE even today, as the face of the SmackDown brand, even when he doesn't have the title. He's also a true hero outside the ring, inspiring others with his story.

#1 Charlotte Flair

The women's division was no more than a sideshow act during the Attitude Era, and thanks to the efforts of the women who came before Charlotte Flair and the remaining Horsewomen, it began to be taken seriously by the company, over the decade that was. But then, Charlotte Flair just took the division to brand new heights and she's been the face of the division for most of the decade.

As popular as Becky Lynch is, at the moment, one has to admit that her push came far too late in the decade. Sasha Banks has had some great matches, but her stints with the title were always short and meaningless.

As for Bayley and even Alexa Bliss, while they've been heavily featured performers, nobody's had nearly the kind of impact that Charlotte Flair has had, over the decade that was. She's a record ten-time women's Champion, has been in the main event of WrestleMania, taken on Trish Stratus in a thrilling match, and is in line to even break her father's record, if all goes well!

For this very reason, Charlotte Flair is my top pick to be the Superstar of the decade that was!
