5 options for Brock Lesnar as Mr. Money In The Bank 2019

Money in the Bank 2019 proved to be the best PPV of 2019 and it's not even close. Pretty much everything about the show went right and although there were a few hiccups with regards to botches, there's very little that fans can genuinely complain about from the PPV.

However, the ending definitely falls into the category that will receive a lot of crcriticismIn case you missed it, Sami Zayn, the originally scheduled eighth member of the men's ladder match was taken out backstage.

Braun Strowman was the initial suspect, but he denied it. The match proceeded one man short, but the end saw Brock Lesnar make an appearance and climb the ladder, becoming Mr. Money in the Bank himself.

Now there's no doubt that it's the swerve of 2019 and it's certainly going to be interesting to see what happens with Lesnar now that his UFC deal has fallen through. Here are five booking options for The Beast Incarnate as Mr. Money in the Bank.

#5 Going after Kofi Kingston and jumping to SmackDown Live

Just because Brock Lesnar won the Money in the Bank briefcase, it doesn't mean that he's going to go and become a 3-time Universal Champion. With the FOX deal done and the switch happening just months away, the executives reportedly want as much star power as possible, including the likes of Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, etc.

Since the Universal title picture for the last two years only centered around Brock Lesnar, it makes sense that WWE will want to have him go after newer challenges with newer opponents and newer storylines.

This could mean that Lesnar ends up on the blue brand and ends up cashing in on Kofi Kingston. It could be Lesnar dominating the WWE title scene once again.

#4 A rematch like 2017

Carmella had to win the MITB briefcase twice!

Remember when the first-ever Women's Money in the Bank ladder match was marred by controversy courtesy of James Ellsworth? If you don't or aren't aware, let's refresh your memory - in 2017, Carmella won the first-ever Women's MITB ladder match thanks to James Ellsworth, who picked up the briefcase himself and dropped it to Carmella.

The controversy and outrage led to WWE doing a rematch just nine days after the first one on SmackDown Live, with Carmella winning the match again. Now, we don't mean to say that a rematch is going to happen on RAW, but it's very possible that WWE might do a Money in the Bank ladder match on another PPV, as bizarre as it sounds.

Brock Lesnar hasn't done a match on free TV in his entire second run back from 2012. It's hard to imagine that he'd get a start now.

#3 Target an old foe in Seth Rollins

An inevitable rematch?
An inevitable rematch?

This would be a no brainer, with Seth Rollins having the demons of his past come back to bite him. In the storyline, it makes complete sense for Brock Lesnar to go after Seth Rollins, especially since he lost the Universal title in a humiliating 2-minute defeat at WrestleMania 35.

There are quite a few ways that WWE could go with this. They could potentially have Lesnar announce his intentions to face Rollins in advance, cashing in the "honorable" way like John Cena and Braun Strowman.

Or, they could just have him cash in after a regular title defence and win back the title. However, the idea we like the most is Brock Lesnar failing to cash in the briefcase. Sure, it would be the third year in a row that the men failed to cash in, but this is a cash in that people probably want to fail.

#2 An extended storyline leading to a WrestleMania 36 retirement

The one positive about Brock Lesnar that fans can't deny is that he has a certain aura about him when he walks around. He's instantly the most intimidating figure at any given point of time and he can walk around with the briefcase as long as he wants to.

WWE doesn't need to rush with his cash-in at all. In fact, the length of the contract is one full year, so there's a story to be told at a bigger stage if WWE is willing to wait. There have been rumors that Brock Lesnar has spoken about a potential retirement match at WrestleMania 36.

If this is the case, it can either lead to Lesnar cashing in on a reigning champion to face them at WrestleMania, or he can be WWE or Universal Champion heading into WrestleMania 36. That would end up being a title match and a retirement match. Who would get the rub for that? We can't really say.

#1 A triple threat clash at SummerSlam

Styles & Rollins put their animosity aside

When talking about the Universal title, we shouldn't ignore the classic that AJ Styles and Seth Rollins had. As expected, they put on a clinic, told a great story and had the best Universal title match in a long time (arguably since the SummerSlam 2017 Fatal-4-Way match).

AJ Styles and Seth Rollins shook hands, indicating that there isn't any heel turn happening anytime soon for The Phenomenal One. However, he looked great even in defeat and there's no doubt that WWE will want to rerun a program between them.

They could still have a match and a series that leads up to SummerSlam, with Brock Lesnar cashing in to announce his participation in a triple threat match.

Lesnar vs Styles vs Rollins would be a blockbuster SummerSlam main event and it could lead to one of the most anticipated PPVs of all time. It's a great option for WWE to consider.
