5 Potential Hell in a Cell fallouts

Who will step up to Becky Lynch next?
Who will step up to Becky Lynch next?

Hell in a Cell is always one of the most brutal and unforgiving pay-per-views, and fans look forward to it each and every year. While this year’s event wasn’t as hyped or built up as the preceding events, it was still a solid show that delivered some of the most memorable matches of the year.

The show kicked off with what may be Becky Lynch's best ever RAW Women’s Championship defense. Hell in a Cell also produced one of the best non-title tag team matches we’ve seen in quite a long time.

Apart from that, we saw two major championships change hands during the night, and WWE provided some very unexpected results to close the show.

To sum it all up, we will take a look at 5 potential fallouts from this year’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

#1 Daniel Bryan moves to RAW

Things ended well between the babyfaces
Things ended well between the babyfaces

Roman Reigns formed an unlikely team with Daniel Bryan to take on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan on Sunday. The babyfaces won the match, and fans expected Bryan to turn heel during or after the bout, but that did not happen.

This could indicate that WWE has scrapped plans to have Bryan and Reigns go head to head, and have have instead planned to move Bryan to the Red Brand.

Bryan has been a part of SmackDown for some time, and we could see him make the switch to RAW in the upcoming draft. This would open up a number of new possibilities for Bryan.

AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and Ricochet are a few of the top Superstars who could have great feuds with Bryan on the Red Brand. Bryan is also one of the men who can become a future Universal Champion.

Following his recent face turn, it would simply make more sense to move Bryan to RAW, where he could compete against some of wrestling's top heels.

#2 Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross split up

Is this the end of the road for Bliss and Cross?
Is this the end of the road for Bliss and Cross?

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross proved to have the best WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship reign since the title’s inception.

The two Superstars took to the ring on Sunday to defend their titles against The Kabuki Warriors, but lost their Championships after Asuka sprayed green mist onto Cross’ face.

The next WWE Draft is coming up this week, and we could see many Superstars switch brands. This could lead to several teams splitting up.

With this Sunday’s result, it seems likely that the company may have planned to split Bliss and Cross, as they lost the title in a match that received no build at all. The move could result in Bliss heading back into the championship picture and battling either Becky Lynch on RAW, or Charlotte Flair on SmackDown. Bliss was protected during her team’s loss at Hell in a Cell, and this could indicate a different direction for her.

As for Cross, she could be the one who switches brands to get her first major singles push, thanks in no small part to her pairing with Alexa Bliss.

#3 Braun Strowman demands another United States Championship match

Braun Strowman has entered and exited many singles championship feuds in the past couple of years, but has not been successful in taking home even one solitary singles championship belt.

Although many fans believe that Strowman should have won a singles title a long time ago, the company seems to have a differing opinion. This has led to singles championship frustration for 'The Monster Among Men.'

At Hell in a Cell, Strowman joined The Viking Raiders in a six-man tag team match against The O.C. The match wasn’t announced prior to the event.

The bout ended in a disqualification after The O.C. decided to hand Strowman a three-on-one beatdown, but 'The Monster Among Men' had the last laugh, as he knocked AJ Styles out before exiting the ring.

This angle could lead to another championship feud for the big man, who could show up on RAW this week to demand another United States Championship match. Since Strowman is way overdue for a championship run, we could soon see him win his first singles championship.

#4 Bayley and Sasha Banks get on the same page

Hell in a Cell did not have many previously announced bouts, but there were several championship bouts announced prior to the show. Two out of the three previously announced matches were for the Women’s Titles, as both the RAW Women’s Championship and the SmackDown Women’s Championship were on the line during the event.

Bayley walked into her SmackDown Women’s Championship Match as the defending champion, but lost her title to the challenger Charlotte Flair. On the other hand, Becky Lynch successfully defended her RAW Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks and sent her packing.

With these two results, both Bayley and Banks fall down the card once again, and could go back to competing on the mid-card in the weeks to come.

As the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, WWE could draft them to the same brand in order to bring back The Boss 'n' Hug Connection to the Women's Tag Team Championship picture.

The Kabuki Warriors defeated Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross during the event and took the Women’s Tag Team Titles home. The WWE Universe could see The Boss 'n' Hug Connection inserted into the mix as The Kabuki Warriors' first challengers.

#5 Ronda Rousey returns

Fans have been waiting for WWE to revisit this rivalry

Before the Clash of Champions pay-per-view, Becky Lynch had overcome many Superstars who challenged for her RAW Women’s Championship. This included Natalya, Lacey Evans, and most recently, Sasha Banks.

With Sasha Banks’ return, it seemed like Lynch had come face to face her biggest threat to date, but after a memorable Hell in a Cell battle it was 'The Man' who once again stood tall.

Lynch has clearly become the face of the company and with this result, it seems like no one backstage can legitimately challenge for her title. This could prompt the return of former RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, who lost her title to Lynch at WrestleMania 35.

Rousey could return this week, or in the weeks to come, as there is still some time to go before the next pay-per-view. Could Rousey return to reclaim her RAW Women's Championship? Sound off in the comments section below.
