#2 The storylines and character development of the Cruiserweight Division
After the Cruiserweight Classic in the summer of 2016, several WWE fans were quite excited at the possibility of a whole new division, and that smaller, ring aware talent would have an opportunity.
Look who just shut down all of Tony Khan's critics! More HERE.
During its early days, it appeared the Cruiserweight division wasn't generating much fanfare. However, as time has passed, the talent and the talent pool have grown and developed, and the division has developed with it.
One of the most significant changes over the course of the past year has been the development of storylines and characters. For example, the ongoing feud between Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa, or the love triangle that developed between Noam Dar, Alicia Fox and Rich Swann (not to mention Cedric Alexander,) or Drew Gulak's mission to stop high-flying action, such as; Mustafa Ali, from showcasing their talent.
The talent can't simply rely on hitting spot after spot, they must develop characters along the way. One performer who has benefited the most from a change in character has been the King of the Cruiserweights, the Cruiserweight champion, Neville.
