5 Reasons why the future in the WWE is bright

Fans of Vince McMahon’s company have a great deal to look forward to

WWE is a publicly traded company that has a massive reach all over the world. Much like a dominant fast food chain, they can do things that make them stand out and provide opportunities to develop and grow.

Over the past few years, WWE has continued to grow and evolve in many different ways and has done several things to make it stand out from other promotions.

Other companies are operated and run well, but WWE doesn't rest on its laurels; it attempts to go above and beyond to overwhelm its competition and maintain its global appeal. There are several reasons to be excited about what lies ahead for the WWE and here are five:

#5 Tag Teams in the pipeline

The tag team depth in NXT continues to provide fans something to look forward to

One of WWE's strongest and most underrated divisions is the tag team division. Whether it is on Raw or SmackDown Live, they boast of some of the most talented teams in the world. Teams such as the Enzo & Cass and American Alpha were promoted to the main roster after they were developed and brought along in NXT.

And the fans can certainly be excited about the fact that there are several other impressive tag teams in the pipeline.

Two teams, in particular, boast exceptional skills that are comparable to anyone on either on Raw or Smackdown Live. The Authors of Pain and #DIY have put on compelling matches against not just each other, but also others on the brand.

Another team that fans will not have a chance to see right now, as they are currently sidelined with an injury, is TM-61. Miller and Thorn are charismatic, exciting and destined for a bright future on the main roster.

#4 A deeper and healthier Raw Roster

Since the brand extension, the WWE has capitalised on a deeper talent pool

Raw has been faced with a number of challenges since the rosters split in the summer of 2016. The main event scene has mostly been comprised of Rollins, Owens, Reigns and Jericho, and other options have been few and far between.

With all due respect to those men and a handful of others who have been trying to make it to the top of the card, there is only so much you could do when only a few performers are available.

Many will recall Finn Balor was injured after capturing the Universal Championship. The Demon King's absence led to Rollins turning face, which left the Architect and Reigns as the two top fan favourites on the roster.

The return of Balor, plus the addition of Samoa Joe, will provide a number of fresh feuds as we move forward.

#3 SmackDown Live remains consistently competitive

Smackdown Live continues to provide exciting programming weekly.

Some of the best storylines on WWE programming has unquestionably been on Smackdown Live. One thing that has, without question, stood out about Smackdown Live is that there is a sense of reality in every promo and verbal exchange between talent.

A talented worker can tell a story in the ring with their actions, but a well-written promo that almost breaks kayfabe embraces what sports entertainment has become. We need to look no farther than the recent exchange between The Miz, Maryse, John Cena and Nikki Bella.

Was there legitimate strife between the Bellas and Maryse?

Rumours have circulated about politicking by the Bellas and Cena in the past, and toying with the idea that there were issues in the past, helps give an air of reality to the storyline. Bray Wyatt has been the WWE champion, so has AJ Styles, and John Cena tied Ric 's world championship record.

Their shorter program allows for younger talent to develop and be engaged in meaningful and interesting programs. There is no reason to believe that will stop anytime soon either.

#2 The storylines and character development of the Cruiserweight Division

The talent and the talent pool have grown and developed, and the division has developed with it

After the Cruiserweight Classic in the summer of 2016, several WWE fans were quite excited at the possibility of a whole new division, and that smaller, ring aware talent would have an opportunity.

During its early days, it appeared the Cruiserweight division wasn't generating much fanfare. However, as time has passed, the talent and the talent pool have grown and developed, and the division has developed with it.

One of the most significant changes over the course of the past year has been the development of storylines and characters. For example, the ongoing feud between Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa, or the love triangle that developed between Noam Dar, Alicia Fox and Rich Swann (not to mention Cedric Alexander,) or Drew Gulak's mission to stop high-flying action, such as; Mustafa Ali, from showcasing their talent.

The talent can't simply rely on hitting spot after spot, they must develop characters along the way. One performer who has benefited the most from a change in character has been the King of the Cruiserweights, the Cruiserweight champion, Neville.

#1 The talent roster continues to expand

The vast number of men and women that are part of the promotion certainly says a great deal about their depth

The saying ‘the rich get richer' is a fair assessment of the WWE.

With the talent that has come to the promotion over the past few years, it is clear that they are determined to build a roster that is so deep and rich in potential that it would be rather hard to compete with their programming. From Raw and SmackDown Live to NXT and 205 Live showcases, the vast number of men and women that are part of the promotion certainly says a great deal about their depth.

It would be hard to argue with how well the promotion has situated themselves, to bring in so many talented men and women that earned a following on the independent scene all over the world. It doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon, either.

While they once had a European title, the company went beyond that after rethinking how to best enhance their entire roster. With the addition of the WWE United Kingdom championship and discussions of another title that would be coming out of Asia, WWE appears to only be increasing its roster to reflect how global the company has become.
