Big E vs. Brock Lesnar could end up becoming a dream booking!

The Royal Rumble is just a month away. While there are several deserving Superstars on all three brands who could go on to win the men’s Royal Rumble, Big E is one man who can do a great job if he’s given the opportunity to pick up the victory over 29 other men.

Big E, who is currently part of the New Day, has seen a lot of success as a tag team competitor along with his stablemates, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, but has never really gotten a major singles push on the main roster.

Not only is he extremely strong, but he’s an incredible athlete who’s great on the mic and can deliver some great matches and moments for the fans to remember.

In this article, we will look at the 5 reasons why Big E should be the man WWE should pick to win the Royal Rumble on January 27, 2020.

#5 He’s a crowd favorite

Fans love Big E's antics

Big E is one of the most entertaining characters WWE has today. In fact, it’s safe to say that the New Day wouldn’t have been as successful as they are today if it wasn’t for his little antics inside and outside the ring.

Big E’s lovable character, coupled with his excellent social media presence, has allowed him to become a crowd favorite and one of WWE’s top Superstars.

During his time in NXT, he became the second-ever NXT Champion after defeating Seth Rollins and held the title for over five months.

His initial days on the main roster saw him work with Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee, but his time came when he joined the New Day and the three men became breakout Superstars.

Royal Rumbles usually work very well when an underdog crowd favorite who hasn’t been overly hyped for the event comes close to victory, and the crowd starts getting behind them in the latter stages of the match.

Big E is that one man who can get the crowd behind him if he is one of the last three remaining members in the match, and a win would certainly blow the roof off the arena!

#4 To keep the New Day going for longer

They need top storylines to keep going
They need top storylines to keep going

The New Day has proven to be one of WWE’s most ingenious and successful factions of all time. The brainchild of Xavier Woods took a while to get going, but he succeeded at even getting Kofi Kingston booed by the crowd which many believed was going to be impossible to do.

Once the faction got going, it worked extremely well with the WWE Universe and became a brand of its own. Today, New Day merchandise is one of the best sellers for the company around the globe, and this has helped the three men stick together longer than any other faction we’ve seen.

The seven-time Tag Team Champions have worked hard to keep their names and faction up, which has forced the creatives from breaking them up.

Kofi Kingston’s breakthrough moment this year at WrestleMania 35 boosted the entire faction once again and helped the trio pick up their first major single’s title.

With that in mind, a Royal Rumble victory for Big E could award New Day another major achievement, while giving New Day another boost to stay in the headlines.

WWE loves Superstars and factions who can move tickets and merchandise, and New Day has done so successfully for over five years now!

#3 WWE needs to keep an eye on the future

Kingston may be heading out soon
Kingston may be heading out soon

Just a few days ago, the leader of New Day, Kofi Kingston, spoke to Newsweek and revealed that he may retire when his current contract expires.

Kofi recently signed a five-year contract and the 38-year old has performed some of the most death-defying stunts in WWE’s history which have helped him become one of the biggest stars in the company. However, the same moves have taken a toll over the veteran’s body and he will be looking to take a break and spend time with his family.

Xavier Woods and Big E are still young and have a long way to go in their careers. 33-year-old Big E has only won a single Championship on his own on the main roster, while he was the NXT Champion at a time when the brand was still referred to as a developmental brand.

Built like a tank, Big E is one man who should have won at least one top title or several mid-card Championships by now, but his alliance with Woods and Kingston kept him in tag team action.

If Kofi does retire in the coming few years or takes a long break, then the company must have something planned for Big E and Woods in order to put them up as top talent.

With that in mind, Big E’s win in this year’s Royal Rumble could give him a kickstart just like Kofi got last year, and once New Day does disband, he will be much better set at going forth as a singles competitor once again.

#2 He deserves a big push

He has won a singles title only once on the main roster
He has won a singles title only once on the main roster

Let’s be honest here, Big E and Xavier Woods are two of the top wrestlers in WWE today who are not praised enough for the work they do in the ring.

In recent months, we have seen Big E take numerous bumps and do some extraordinary things since Woods has been out with an injury. At TLC 2019, Big E and Kofi Kingston defended their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Revival, and Big E took some of the biggest bumps in the match to make it that much more thrilling.

With that in mind, it seems like Big E is doing much more now than ever before to put the art of wrestling forward, and therefore he deserves a push from the company.

His NXT Championship win came over seven years ago, and he needs to get back in contention for a top title so that the fans are aware of what an extraordinary performer he is.

Kofi had his moment to shine this year, and Big E could get his moment in the coming year with a major push with the help of a Royal Rumble match win.

Fans are currently behind many NXT Superstars to win the Royal Rumble match, but a win for Big E will help WWE develop an existing main roster Superstar and allow him to get the push that he so very well deserves.

#1 He could avenge Kofi’s loss to Lesnar

Lesnar ended Kofi's reign within 10 seconds
Lesnar ended Kofi's reign within 10 seconds

Kofi Kingston had a great run as the WWE Champion after he defeated Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 for the Championship. He went undefeated for a long time and defended his title well in every single Title match.

On October 4, at the season premiere of SmackDown on Fox, Kofi came face to face with none other than ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar who defeated him in 10 seconds after delivering a single F5.

The move ended Kofi’s great run as Champion in a very unceremonious manner and hurt his image and Championship reign a little. Big E, who is very close to Kofi, can be the perfect man who could face Brock Lesnar to avenge his friend's loss.

Big E is well built and can match the strength and brutality of Lesnar well. A win at the Royal Rumble could help him build a storyline where he chases current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar for the title just to avenge Kofi’s loss in October.

This would prove to be a great storyline that fans could get behind as they love Big E and the New Day, and do not really like Lesnar.

Whether Big E wins or loses will not hurt his reputation, but the story could really help him get ahead and have a great singles run later on.
