Braun Strowman has a huge task at WWE Clash of Champions 2019. For the first time in his career, he'll be wrestling in two full matches in one night on a PPV. While Seth Rollins has done it once, 4 years ago, this is unchartered waters for Strowman.

As you know by now, Strowman and the Universal title hasn't exactly been a great story. He's gotten hot on multiple occasions and fans were ready to see him win the title, but for various reasons at various times, he just wasn't the superstar that WWE decided to go with.
This will be his first Universal Championship match this year. He was supposed to be the #1 contender at Royal Rumble, but he was pulled from the spot and entered the Royal Rumble match instead, where he was a runner-up to his upcoming opponent Seth Rollins.
We can't, of course, neglect the fact he will be competing in a RAW Tag Team title match prior to this. It's unlikely that he and Rollins will walk out with those titles intact, and we believe that Strowman will exit the PPV with no championship around his waist.
Here are five reasons why Vince McMahon won't allow him to win the Universal title at WWE Clash of Champions 2019.
#5. Seth Rollins has just come off a win over Brock Lesnar
For the second time in four months, Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar. This time, he did it clean and it truly cemented him as the face of Monday Night RAW. Given that WWE just had him win over Lesnar, it's unlikely that they have any intention whatsoever of putting the title on Strowman.
Seth Rollins is understandably their focus right now and they wouldn't have given him a clean win over The Beast Incarnate if there weren't already big plans in place for him.
#4. WWE is still hesitant to put the Universal title on Braun Strowman
As we mentioned before, Braun Strowman and the Universal title isn't a happy story. It was 2016 when Strowman got started on his singles run and in a matter of months, he had gotten over purely from squash matches.
His momentum led him to become one of RAW's top stars and eventually a babyface as well. But everytime he came close to the Universal Championship, it was crystal clear that WWE were hesitant to put him in that spot.
First, they had him destroy Lesnar at SummerSlam 2017 but protected him by having Roman Reigns get pinned. The following month, he had a somewhat underwhelming match with Lesnar where he lost clean for only the second time in his career.
On the road to WrestleMania 34, he was easily the hottest star on RAW, similar to how Dean Ambrose was on the road to WrestleMania 32. Unfortunately, they had him take another clean pin from Roman Reigns, the man they wanted to push.
It's crystal clear that WWE is very hesitant to pull the trigger on Strowman. What the reason for that is, we'll probably never know.
#3. WWE wants Wyatt vs Rollins as the next program
It was first revealed by Golden 1 Center, the host venue for Hell in a Cell next month, that Bray Wyatt will be challenging either Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship.
Strowman even addressed the tweet and Wyatt responded. In a surprising move, WWE addressed these rumours directly at Firefly Fun House, with a puppet Vince McMahon asking Wyatt how "dare" he challenge Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman at Hell in a Cell.
Wyatt ended the incredible segment with a chilling proclamation, saying: "See you in hell". It seems clear that the Universal Champion will have to face Bray Wyatt at Hell in a Cell. Given the stipulation in itself, it makes sense because the cell is the perfect kind of structure for a character like The Fiend.
While there is history between Strowman and Wyatt, it seems like WWE may want to go with Rollins vs Wyatt for the immediate future. The only unfortunate part about that is the fact that nobody wants to see either Wyatt or Rollins lose the match.
It'll certainly be interesting to see, but Wyatt vs Rollins being the plan may be why Strowman won't get to win the Universal title.

#2. WWE wants to use Braun Strowman as a stepping stone for Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins currently reigns supreme as the leading superstar of Monday Night RAW. He's the Universal Champion and received his official coronation at WrestleMania 34 when he beat Brock Lesnar.
For some reason, WWE decided to have Lesnar become Mr. Money in the Bank and win the Universal title again, when all they needed to do was have him rematch Rollins at SummerSlam and give Rollins the same, clean victory.
Of course, a part of that story was in order to make fans realise that Rollins earned that spot - by winning the battle royal, enduring weeks of attacks and ultimately triumphing. It's incredible to think that even Roman Reigns never got a clean pin over Lesnar, but Rollins did.
Given that they're now pushing Rollins similar to how they were pushing Roman Reigns (albeit, with a lot more success), it wouldn't be surprising if WWE and Vince McMahon decide to use Braun Strowman as a stepping stone for Seth Rollins to get ahead.
You can't blame them because beating Lesnar and Strowman clean in succession makes him a strong babyface.
#1. WWE wants to run Wyatt vs Strowman in 2020
When we spoke about Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt being the potential plan for the immediate future, the key word is immediate. Just because they won't run Wyatt vs Braun Strowman next month, it doesn't mean that there's no plan for the feud at all.
Make no mistake about it - Bray Wyatt vs Braun Strowman is a big money rivalry. It's one that's big enough for WrestleMania and one that we wouldn't be surprised to see at the show of shows.
We can't say for sure who would win between Rollins and Wyatt. Perhaps they could go for an inconclusive finish, or they could have Wyatt win the title and only wrestle occasionally. If that is the case, then a Wyatt vs Strowman match for the Universal title at WrestleMania would be absolute money.
They don't even need a title to have a big feud. However, this feud could be one of the reasons why WWE doesn't want to pull the trigger on Strowman at the moment. In all fairness to WWE, it's probably better if Seth Rollins walks out still Universal Champion. He's the champion RAW needs right now.
