5 Shocking Face turns that we can witness in 2019

Will 2019 be the year of the Swiss Superman?
Will 2019 be the year of the Swiss Superman?

Pro-wrestling has two basic personas of wrestlers: faces and heels. While in recent memory there have been a lot of Superstars who were neither a face not a heel. In spite of that, WWE has witnessed a huge number of top babyfaces throughout its history.

Legendary superstars like Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, John Cena, The Rock, and many more have made fans fall in love with them and admire them with all their hearts.

Usually, in pro wrestling, a heel turn is considered a huge moment. But sometimes a heel turning face is just as big and can lead to a totally new career path for the Superstar. The most recent example of this is The Miz. After being a heel for almost his whole career, he turned face in his rivalry against Shane McMahon. It was so refreshing to see such a top heel being cheered by fans with all emotions.

In the current roster, there are many Superstars who can benefit from a face turn and would lead to the crowd going behind them. We've all seen what crowd support can do to a wrestler's career, say for example Daniel Bryan's YES movement, or the very recent KofiMania.

In this article, let's take a look at the five shocking face turns that we can witness this year. Who do you think would succeed the most as a face?

#5 The Revival

The Top Guys!
The Top Guys!

The former RAW Tag Team Champions, The Revival, have had a tough career on the main roster. After being immensely successful and popular in NXT, The Revival was pretty much jobbing to others for a long time before finally getting their hands on the RAW Tag Team Championship.

These two are arguably one of the best tag teams in WWE right now, and great heels as well. Fans do love them, and if WWE plans to turn them face, they would soon be hugely over with the crowd. With the Tag Team division full of heels like The Good Brothers, The Bar, Sanity, and many more, The Revival could do great as a face.

Also, with The Undisputed Era seeming to make their main roster debuts sometime soon, a feud between them and The Revival would be amazing.

#4 Charlotte

Will Charlotte go back to being a face?
Will Charlotte go back to being a face?

Now before you start complaining of how many character changes Charlotte will make, this turn would serve a bigger purpose. And that purpose would be none other than building towards the dream match of WWE 4 horsewomen vs UFC 4 horsewomen.

If all goes well, we might as well see that match happen at next year's WrestleMania. And when that happens, the WWE women would surely play the face who would defend their house from the outsider's threats. Imagine those 4 UFC fighters beating up Becky, Sasha, and Bayley in the ring, only for Charlotte to come out and make the save, and stand tall with her fellow horsewomen.

#3 Andrade

The next big thing from Mexico?
The next big thing from Mexico?

It's already been a year since the former NXT Champion, Andrade has arrived on the main roster. But unfortunately, there's hardly anything he has done so far. No doubt, his pairing with Zelina Vega is great and they make for a pretty good heel team. But somehow he hasn't been able to make it big.

Numerous people have said Andrade could be the next big thing from Mexico and can finally be the answer to Vince's long-term search project of the replacement of Rey Mysterio. Rey and Andrade did have some great matches earlier this year. A face turn from Andrade combined with forming a tag-team with Mysterio would be a great passing the torch moment and would get him over high time with the fans.

#2 Rusev

"Rusev Day" was one of the most popular chants of the last year!

Rusev is an incredible athlete, no doubt. But the character that he portrays is equally amazing. The sheer ease with which Rusev and Aiden English got the "Rusev Day" gimmick over was mind-blowing.

Fans were completely behind the Bulgarian Brute, but WWE, unfortunately, did not make use of it. Right now, Rusev is a heel who hardly anyone cares about.

The fact is that fans love Rusev, and if he turns face and WWE books him properly, the future is bright for him. As a heel, his future look bleak.

#1 Cesaro

One of the most underrated wrestlers!
One of the most underrated wrestlers!

The Swiss Superman, Cesaro has been paired with Sheamus for quite some time now. Though their team, The Bar is amazing, there's hardly anything left for them to do and with time, they are getting stale.

Cesaro, unfortunately, is one of the most underrated wrestlers in WWE right now. His technicality in between the rings, combined with some inhuman super strength make him one of the most favorite wrestlers to watch.

It's high time WWE separates him from Sheamus and gives him a proper singles push as a top babyface. For once, fans would immediately get behind Cesaro whenever WWE plans to pull this out. Cesaro is World Champion material, and even his partner Sheamus wants to see him become the world champion.
