5 shocking interferences we might see at SummerSlam 2019

Will it happen?
Will it happen?

The Biggest Party of the Summer is almost upon us. The PPV will emanate from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada and is a packed card from top to bottom. The top matches of the night include the WWE Universal title clash between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins. Becky Lynch's rivalry with Natalya will culminate in a Raw Women's title match at the event. On the other hand, Kevin Owens' career is on the line as he takes on the heel authority figure in Shane McMahon.

The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler has now been replaced with Ziggler taking on WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, around two months after he lost to The Undertaker at Super ShowDown. With such a strong lineup, one can expect some shady stuff to happen at least in a couple of matches. Here are five big interferences we might see at SummerSlam.

#5 Drew McIntyre comes to the aid of Shane McMahon

It has been a while since Kevin Owens delivered his thunderous pipe bomb on Shane McMahon, accusing him of promoting himself and holding back young talent in the process. The feud resulted in a match being set up for SummerSlam, with the stipulation being that a loss for Owens would result in him quitting WWE!

Over the course of the past few months, Shane McMahon has feuded with some of the biggest Superstars in WWE, including Roman Reigns and The Undertaker. McMahon's lackey Drew McIntyre helped him defeat Reigns at Super ShowDown. Expect an interference from McIntyre at the upcoming PPV, with The Scottish Psychopath attempting to hit Owens with a Claymore Kick to the head. This will be for naught though, as Owens will somehow pick up the win, now that a loss calls from his exit from WWE.

#4 The 'new' Liv Morgan debuts?

Liv Morgan
Liv Morgan

On a recent episode of SmackDown Live, Shane McMahon held a Town Hall Meeting, allowing WWE Superstars to vent their frustrations with him and the company. The segment saw Liv Morgan get into an argument with Charlotte Flair, which resulted in a match between the two, leading to Liv tapping out to the Figure Eight. Post-match, Morgan indicated a change of character.

Morgan has been hinting at the new, dark character on her Twitter handle as of late. SummerSlam 2019 could be a great platform for her supposedly dark persona to debut and interfere in the SmackDown Live Women's title match. Morgan could attack both Bayley and Ember Moon in a fit of rage, putting herself into the blue brand's Women's title picture in the process. It has been a while since Mogan teased a new character. Hopefully, WWE brings out the same soon, before the audience loses interest.

#3 The Undisputed Era confronts The Club

It's time!
It's time!

A few weeks ago, AJ Styles turned heel and reformed The Club, with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Soon after, a feud was teased between The Club and The Undisputed Era. SummerSlam will see AJ Styles defend his WWE United States title against Ricochet. If WWE wants to give us a Club vs Era Traditional Survivor Series Match at the November PPV, this could be the perfect place to kick off the feud.

Let The Undisputed Era interfere in the match and cost Styles the United States title. Styles is currently in a spot where he doesn't need this title, while Ricochet will greatly benefit from holding it. An interference from The Undisputed Era could be followed up with the faction debuting on Monday Night Raw on the following night, and challenging The Club to a match. The months-long buildup would see The Club looking to hire a 4th member, hopefully bringing in Finn Balor.

#2 Sasha Banks returns and attacks Becky Lynch

They go back a long way
They go back a long way

"The Man" is all set to face Natalya at The Biggest Party of the Summer, with the Raw Women's title on the line. Becky Lynch has delivered a series of excellent promos on social media, ever since the two kicked off the feud weeks ago on Raw. Recently, Lynch had some scathing comments geared towards Sasha Banks.

If Sasha Banks could hack it and she didn’t just get her jacket – she’s off crying like Ronda Rousey – then I would love to face her. But, unfortunately, she couldn’t take losing. She lost the Tag Team Championship and she was gone. Some people can’t hack losing, they can’t step up.

What if this is a setup for Banks to make her big return at SummerSlam? Banks appearing out of nowhere and confronting Lynch would surely lead to an incredible moment in front of a white-hot Toronto crowd. Let Lynch somehow still retain the title and go on to engage in a feud with Banks, something that's bound to produce a bunch of amazing promos and must-watch matches.

#1 Matt Riddle interferes and costs Goldberg the match

Riddle and Goldberg
Riddle and Goldberg

Goldberg's WWE return for Super ShowDown was not the only thing fans were talking about at the time. NXT Superstar Matt Riddle was making waves after revealing that Goldberg had blocked him on Twitter. Riddle then proceeded to take several shots at Goldberg, even calling him "the worst wrestler in the business".

Riddle has also stated that he will be the one to retire Brock Lesnar. If the rumors of Lesnar retiring at WrestleMania 36 are true, and WWE wants Riddle to be the one to do it, SummerSlam would be the right place for him to make his debut, and cost Goldberg the match (giving Ziggler the biggest rub of his career). This could result in Riddle defeating Goldberg in a match at a future PPV, preferably Survivor Series. Riddle could then go on to kick off a feud with Brock Lesnar, culminating at WrestleMania.
