Johnny Gargano leaving WWE could be an inevitability. He has been Mr. NXT for years, and he seems to have avoided a main roster call-up -- something that most fans seem to be relieved about.
When it's all said and done, Gargano will go down as one of the greatest superstars in NXT history. But WWE's entire approach to NXT has changed, with the "third brand" status gone and NXT 2.0 being used as developmental territory again.

To add to that, Gargano's age may work against him as WWE is looking to hire and push superstars in their 20s. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful revealed that the NXT Triple Crown Champion's contract will expire on December 3rd.
As of this writing, there was an update from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, stating that there is still a chance that Johnny Gargano will be a part of NXT 2.0.
However, given WWE's change in direction, Gargano might end his 6-year stint with the company.
