Who will finally end The Fiend's undefeated streak?

While Bray Wyatt's reign as Universal Champion just started a short time ago, many members of the WWE Universe have certainly been asking themselves who could possibly defeat The Fiend. Recent speculation comes from a rumor claiming that Vince McMahon wants a special Superstar to defeat The Fiend, but fans were absolutely wondering before then.

In fact, between The Fiend walking away uninjured after being seemingly fried by pyrotechnics and kicking out at a mere one count after several Stomps from former Universal Champion Seth Rollins, one has to wonder: who in the world can take him down? Is it even possible to defeat WWE's most powerful character at all?

It's going to take a very special breed of Superstar to finally defeat The Fiend, and here are five men that may have the best chance to dojust that. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us who you think should be the one to defeat The Fiend for The Universal Title.

#5 CM Punk

CM Punk might just come out of retirement for this!
CM Punk might just come out of retirement for this!

CM Punk has made it known that he has always wanted a main event match at WrestleMania. He didn't receive that distinction when he took on The Undertaker, but the wrong could be righted by taking on 'Taker's ostensible replacement at the "Show of Shows". Of course Punk would have to come out of retirement to make it make it happen and according to the Straight Edge Superstar, Vince McMahon will have to make some unknown concessions as well, but this outcome might be worth it.

In all honesty, CM Punk might be one of the few Superstars in WWE history that could end The Fiend's undefeated streak without receiving any backlash from fans. That dosen't mean that some fans won't see something wrong with the scenario, because you can't please everyone, but the people in favor of the decision could very likely be far outweigth those with negative reactions.

#4 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre could absolutely destroy The Fiend if he wanted to, right?
Drew McIntyre could absolutely destroy The Fiend if he wanted to, right?

WWE has failed to establish Drew McIntyre as a true star several times throughout his most recent run on the main roster, and the opportunity has presented itself on more than one occasion. While he remains a strong heel, he just hasn't had the success some would argue he deserves. As fans, we don't know whether that is due to WWE not seeing him as a true top guy, fan reactions perceived by WWE as underwhelming, or a personal issue backstage that we don't know about. What is obvious, however, is the fact that McIntyre could definitely have had a run as WWE or Universal Champion by now. He's got all of the tools.

McIntyre is arguably one of WWE's best heels on the microphone and has the physical build that Vince McMahon has historically preferred in a top Superstar. Unfortunately for the "Scottish Psychopath", he has been the victim of start and stop pushes since his return to RAW in April of 2018 and has never been able to build any momentum.

The man, in the opinion of many fans, through hard work and dedication, has earned a career far better than what has panned out in reality. That could be turned around on a dime by giving him nod as the man who finally defeats The Fiend. There is plenty of time to build Drew up to the level that would allow him to go one-on-one with The Fiend in the main event of WrestleMania 36, where he could pin the Universal Champion, end his streak, and take his title.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Could Brock Lesnar be the one to destroy The Fiend?
Could Brock Lesnar be the one to destroy The Fiend?

It's difficult to predict exactly how the WWE Universe would react to Brock Lesnar defeating The Fiend, which may be the perfect reason for the company to do it. It could create a level of nuclear heat not seen since Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX and serve as another one of the most shocking moments in WWE history.

That could be the shot in the arm that the WWE Universe needs right now. That shock to the system that shows them fairytales don't exist and a man can only stay on top for so long. It may be a hard pill to swallow, especially with everything WWE has achieved with The Fiend so far, but imagine the impact this moment could have.

Again, it may not be a popular move by any means, but the WWE Universe, much like the ending of Undertaker's WrestleMania Stream, could take Brock defeating The Fiend very personally, which could help them get behind whoever ultimately beats The Beast and sends him away from WWE once-and-for-all. Also, having The Fiend lose to a legitimate UFC fighter like Brock Lesnar protects WWE's creation in defeat, which is of utmost importance.

While Lesnar might not be the perfect person to do this and the outcome of the situation will depend on how fans react, he is arguably one of the only Superstars that could reasonably pull it off.

#2 Finn Balor

Finn Balor versus The Fiend. Who wins round 2?
Finn Balor versus The Fiend. Who wins round 2?

Why not end it where it all began?

Seriously, why not take it full circle and have The Fiend face off against The Demon King? Not only would this be a great excuse for Balor to summon The demon again in order to take on The Fiend, it could also be the start of him doing it more often.

Another reason why Finn Balor is the perfect person to finally defeat The Fiend is the fact that he is one of the only other Superstars on the roster that has a supernatural gimmick. This will ultimately allow WWE to protect The Fiend in defeat and explain away the loss in a way that they would otherwise not be able to pull off with any other Superstar.

For example, if someone like John Cena were to defeat Wyatt straight up, it could come across as cartoonish and may even be seen as completely unbelievable, as the aging star probably doesn't have enough gas in the tank to bring a strong enough fight to the most powerful and feared men on the roster. Not to mention that Cena would single handedly be responsible for killing WWE's biggest creation in several years and could face a lot of fan backlash, which would be a repeat of what happened half a decade ago at WrestleMania XXX.

Compared to The Demon King , who has a supernatural element to his character, and the story becomes a totally different beast and could lead to a rivalry that continues on-and-off for many years to come.

#1 Roman Reigns

Should Roman Reigns be the one to finally defeat The Fiend?
Should Roman Reigns be the one to finally defeat The Fiend?

Roman Reigns is arguably WWE's version of Superman at this point in his career, as he took the over for the mostly retired John Cena. Every great hero needs a villain. Furthermore, they need a villain so powerful and intimidating, that they better themselves just for a chance to finally defeat them.

If nothing else, Roman Reigns has served in this role on countless occasions and while some might object to him doing it again, it might not be that bad of a thing. It might even be the moment that gives Reigns the christening at the top he should have had a long time ago, but didn't, due mostly to poor timing on WWE's part on many occasions.

Interestingly enough, Reigns is at a point in his career where he is liked more than he is hated if you base it on the reaction of the fans who attend the shows every week. This would essentially allow Reigns to be one of the few Superstars capable of defeating The Fiend without facing too much backlash.

In the end, Roman Reigns versus The Fiend would be an interesting matchup on paper and with the previous history between Reigns and Wyatt, the amount of mind games that could be played only it makes it more appealing. Sure, Reigns might not be everyone's first choice to do the dirty deed, but he is one of the few that make sense.
