5 Surprises that could make Wrestlemania a grand success

In need of better fireworks

WrestleMania is the biggest event in professional wrestling. Period.

But unlike its recent history, not many in the WWE Universe are getting their anticipation levels scorched up despite it being the thirtieth anniversary edition.

Bad booking and some horrific decisions from the WWE creative is to blame for the same and the company is starting to feel the pressure as the due date comes closer. With not much to show in terms of storyline, the only thing they could hope for is to make some surprises work out so that they don’t look like children playing with Legos with no idea whatsoever.

With a lot of potential lurking around the rich roster, all they have to do know is to pick the right one and place it in the right slot. So let’s take a look at the top five surprises that could make WrestleMania a grand success.

End the Streak

The biggest Surprise

The biggest Surprise

Well this isn’t one that’s likely to happen but if it does, it’s going to make this WrestleMania top the charts for a long long time.

Taker’s streak has been the marquee attraction of WrestleMania for more than two decades now and the fans would just be eating out their hearts seeing such a historic moment unfold right before their eyes.

The fact that no one expects Lesnar to break the streak adds to the surprise element making it arguably the biggest talking point in PG Era. It’s a risk worth taking on a short term basis; however, after this happens the company will be left without anything spectacular for the years to come.

But if the company has confidence in their creative team, (which I clearly doubt) this would be the easiest way to make this year’s WrestleMania a grand success.

Split up the Shield

Choose you own paths

Choose you own paths

It’s been teased for so long now that we can actually taste it. Splitting up the Shield at WrestleMania will arguably be one of the best things to do since the creative are not going to get a bigger stage to do the same.

a triple threat match, a handicap match with Roman Reigns as the lone wolf, Roman Reigns against Triple H with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins on the Game’s side, Reigns winning the money in the bank and cashing in later are all scenarios which could easily work out.

Imagine Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose going single and establishing as main event stars. Now, imagine a feud between Roman Reigns and Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and John Cena, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan for the title. All these dreams would get a different gear if the split happens at WrestleMania so this one is for the future.

Make John Cena lose against Bray Wyatt

Behold the future

Behold the future

Bray Wyatt maybe one of the best thing that’s happen to the WWE Universe in recent history, but all his fans must be feeling the pressure when they heard that the company is planning to pit him up against John Cena at WrestleMania.

Why?

Because any superstar who has crossed paths with Cena hasn’t come out the same, with Shield being the prime example. The hounds of justice was a menacing and dominating force when they initially came in, but the interactions with Cena soon led to the fall in their stocks.

The company should take special care in not allowing the same to happen in the case of Bray and make him get one over John Cena at the grand stage.

A pass of the torch moment, this will cement the spot of Bray Wyatt as a top dog with Cena least affected by the loss.

Bring back Money in the bank

Bring out the ladders

Bring out the ladders

Remember the time when Money in the Bank used to be an annual match in WrestleMania? Good all days ain’t it? The Money in the bank lost its credibility after being kicked out of WrestleMania and no one wanted a special pay-per-view for that with two ladder matches to make things worse.

So the ideal way to bring back the charm of Money in the bank would be to bring it back to the granddaddy of them.

Along with giving the fans something to cheer about, the match is going to give WrestleMania time for wandering midcarders like Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and many more.

With the unification of the titles still relevant the Money in the Bank match will have almost the same effect of the Royal Rumble and it also opens up a possibility of the winner cashing it later that night as well. And that’s cool.

Don’t Make Batista and Orton win the title

Time up champ

Time up champ

Making Batista or Orton win the title at WrestleMania would be simply suicidal. Both Batista and Orton has been stale and as things stands now, either of them will win the title since they are booked in a one-on-one match.

So what the company needs to do will be to add in a third man into the match who should walk out of the WrestleMania with the title.

Daniel Bryan and CM Punk will be the obvious choices with Cesaro and Reigns having outside chances. Bryan winning the title would be the ideal from these since that’s what everyone wants. If it goes that way Punk could go against Triple H.

If CM Punk is included then Bryan could go against Triple H.

But you know what would be the best thing to do?

Book Triple H against Shawn Michaels by dragging him back into the ring, or book Triple H against Roman Reigns so that we will have a fatal four way match as the main event.

I.e. CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Batista vs. Randy Orton

It’s going to take out the predictability factor as well. whatever path they take, Batista and Orton should be lying in the ring without the title once WrestleMania goes off if the company doesn’t want themselves to be blown away by the angry fans.
