The Miz will take on Mr. Money in the Bank, Otis in a match that was recently added to the Hell in a Cell card and dates back to their days on WWE SmackDown.

The stipulation for this match is that the winner will claim the Money in the Bank contract. While matches for the Money in the Bank briefcase are rare, the holder of the case usually wins the match, but that won’t be the case this time.

Let’s be honest here, Otis wasn’t doing much this time last year. While he was a member of Heavy Machinery with Tucker, they weren’t being pushed hard. It wasn’t until the holiday season when the love storyline between Otis and Mandy Rose took off that he became one of the most over guys on the roster.

Otis then shocked the world this summer by winning the Money in the Bank Ladder match. However, with the lack of crowds and Otis not doing much with the briefcase except comedy skits, it’s time to take the briefcase off of him.

While Miz and John Morrison haven’t been doing much since losing the SmackDown Tag Team titles, there is no disputing that the contract will be much better off on the Miz, who would add more intrigue to it. There are multiple routes WWE can go with the contract if The Miz wins.

If Drew McIntyre does escape Hell in a Cell with the WWE Championship, losing to a Money in the Bank cash-in, especially from Miz, would be a way to get the title off of McIntyre and keep him looking strong.

The best part about it is that since Miz would have all the way until next summer to cash in if it isn’t on McIntyre, another babyface could be champion by that time.

Another interesting tidbit in this story is that the main focus has mostly been on Miz, not Morrison. This is interesting because WWE can do a storyline where the Miz turns on Morrison after winning the title. We could get then a feud that some fans have wanted since their last feud years ago. Morrison is much better as a babyface, especially with his move set. Meanwhile, The Miz works much better as a heel.

While Otis’ win at WWE Money in the Bank win was shocking and a feel-good moment, it never felt realistic for him to be able to cash in successfully on guys like Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, the Fiend, and so on.

It is much more realistic for a sneaky heel like Miz, who is also a credible former WWE Champion, to do so. So, expect the Cinderella story of Otis to end this Sunday.
