There's a lot that WWE could have in store for us at SummerSlam

We're on the road to The Biggest Party of the Summer, SummerSlam, and fans are already excited for the event. The card looks promising, especially with some of the big names confirmed or rumored to appear at the event.

The Beastslayer, Seth Rollins, has a huge task ahead of him as he is set to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and Kofi Kingston will go one-on-one against his old nemesis Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Kingston has defended his title against several top Superstars, but The Viper is his biggest challenger to date.

Ricochet will continue his rivalry with AJ Styles as the two phenomenal Superstars are set to clash for the United States Championship.

Becky Lynch will defend her Raw Women's Championship against "The Queen of Harts" Natalya and Dolph Ziggler is scheduled to face The Miz. SummerSlam is WWE's second-biggest event and the company will be willing to make it a show that fans will never forget.

A lot could go down at the event one week from Sunday. While fans are always open to surprises, a lot of unexpected things can happen and WWE has provided us with multiple surprises in the past. The Biggest Party of the Summer will be a good show if WWE takes the right step. So, here are five things that could happen at this year's SummerSlam.

#5 Ricochet regains the US Championship

Could Ricochet regain what was once his?
Could Ricochet regain what was once his?

"The One and Only" Ricochet surprisingly defeated Samoa Joe at WWE Stomping Grounds to win the United States Championship.

Since then, he began a feud with AJ Styles which also resulted in The Club reuniting. AJ Styles successfully defeated Ricochet at Extreme Rules to win his third US title and the former won a gauntlet match to become the No.1 contender for the title at SummerSlam.

Ricochet could surprise AJ Styles by pinning him to become the new United States Champion or perhaps a debut from The Undisputed Era could lead to the faction costing Styles the title, allowing Ricochet to win, setting up a feud with The OC.

#4 Ronda Rousey returns and confronts Becky Lynch

Will we finally see the match we never got to see?
Will we finally see the match we never got to see?

Becky Lynch will put her title on the line against one of the longest-tenured female competitors in WWE, Natalya.

This match doesn't sound very must-see but maybe that's because WWE has a much bigger plan. Ronda Rousey has unfinished business with Becky Lynch, and after she lost her Raw Women's Championship to The Man in the main event of WrestleMania 35, there's no doubt that she will want retribution.

After all, according to the rumor mill, Rousey could return to WWE at SummerSlam and possibly re-ignite her feud with Becky Lynch.

SummerSlam is a big PPV and with the declining ratings for Raw and SmackDown Live and with AEW set to debut their weekly show on TNT, perhaps Rousey is the answer to WWE's prayers. And if that doesn't work out, at least we will finally get to witness the match that we never got to see.

#3 Goldberg is revealed as Dolph Ziggler's opponent

Dolph Ziggler is set to face The Miz at SummerSlam. Although this match has been confirmed by WWE, there's a chance that it won't actually occur. Last week on SmackDown Live, Dolph Ziggler attacked The Miz and hit Shawn Michaels with a Superkick.

The match was set this week but no one is really looking forward to it. We have seen these two Superstars do battle a lot of times in the past and a match like this isn't big enough for SummerSlam.

Thankfully, Dolph Ziggler may not face The Miz after all, as the former World Champion is rumored to face another Superstar at SummerSlam, and that Superstar is--you guessed it--Goldberg.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that the scheduled match between Ziggler and Miz is just a 'red herring,' which could mean that WWE has other plans for The Showoff.

Ziggler has been name-dropping Goldberg lately, and after his disappointing match with The Undertaker, The Icon could be looking for a new challenge.

#2 Brock Lesnar retains the Universal Championship

The Beast could be champion for a long time

Brock Lesnar successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules to win his third Universal Championship.

The Beastlayer won a battle royal match on the red brand to receive a shot at the title and the two Superstars are set to battle once again at SummerSlam for RAW's biggest prize.

Brock Lesnar is the biggest Superstar WWE has right now. He absolutely brutalized Seth Rollins on Raw this week, sending the latter to the hospital.

Rollins pinned Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 to become the Universal Champion. What are the chances he will do the same thing at SummerSlam?

Rollins obviously won't make it to SummerSlam at a hundred percent. Lesnar has defeated many big names in WWE, such as The Undertaker, Goldberg, Triple H, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Kurt Angle and The Big Show, so losing to a smaller guy like Rollins twice in a row will only hurt what he worked for decades to be.

It won't be a huge surprise if Lesnar manages to retain and gets to feud with other Superstars. This could see Lesnar holding on to the title until WrestleMania 36 where he is rumored to wrestle his last match.

#1 Randy Orton defeats Kofi Kingston to win the WWE Championship

Will Orton become a 14-time World Champ?
Will Orton become a 14-time World Champ?

For the thousandth time, Randy Orton is a challenger for the WWE Championship. Orton has held the WWE Championship for an incredible nine-times and the World Heavyweight Championship on four occasions as well. The Viper is the biggest full-time competitor left in WWE and if the company decides to put the title on him, it won't be a bad decision.

With the blue brand moving to FOX in the fall, having a Superstar like Orton hold SmackDown's top prize is best for business.

Kofi Kingston's reign as WWE Champion lasted longer than anyone expected it to but it's time he dropped the title to another Superstar and his feud with Orton shouldn't just be a one-off thing. If Kingston loses his title to The Viper, he can have a long feud with Orton; chasing the WWE title for a while before finally winning it again.
