We know that many of our readers look upon this show with disdain because ‘reality television has no place in wrestling’. Granted, that argument does have its merits. However, scripted or not, Total Divas offers a perspective into a lot of dynamics that we see in WWE and is based on a bedrock of reality, even if the actual stories are embellished for television. Ultimately, it delivers on a front that Raw sometimes fails to deliver on: entertainment.
This week was about pigs, sharks, honeymoons, and even some professional wrestling. We have picked out five distinct points from the show that we found quite interesting. Read on, guys!
#5 The Miz/Maryse never went on their honeymoon
Remember how we introduced this article by saying that there is an element of truth in the show, however, scripted it may be? Because of their hectic schedules, The Miz and Maryse, WWE’s It Couple, never actually went on a honeymoon. Neither did Eva Marie and her husband, Jonathan, because Eva had to work a live event the day immediately after she got married. The two couples decided to get together and embark on a joint honeymoon, to the beautiful land of the Bahamas

#4 Maryse finds swimming with pigs romantic
Maryse and The Miz were at odds, all through their trip to The Bahamas. This was because he wanted to focus on activities he liked such as going spearfishing, playing fantasy football, etc. while she wanted to do something romantic with him. A fair enough request on one’s honeymoon, of course. However, it is what she wanted to do that was incredibly absurd. She wanted to go swimming with pigs.
Yes, The Exuma Islands of The Bahamas are renowned for their many sights, including the swimming pigs. There is a special island that tourists throng to quite often, known simply as ‘Pig Beach’. Legend has it that these pigs were part of a shipwreck and have now made this island their home, coming out to swim with tourists who visit them. They are fed by locals as well as travellers, making Pig Beach a very popular spot in the Bahamas. Maryse finally got her wish and swam with the pigs towards the end of this episode. #3 Maryse is a genuine animal lover
This episode of Total Divas was all about animals- dogs, cats, pigs, lizards and much, much, more. While most characters on the show seem like big animal lovers, Maryse proved that she genuinely cares. The Miz took her finishing against her will, to the middle of the ocean. While Miz was unsuccessful in catching anything, Maryse managed to grab a lobster from the bottom of the sea with her bare hands. Immediately after, she let it go, saying that she does not even eat any meat. Now, that’s a cool chick!

#2 Nikki Bella had to retire The Rack Attack
Nikki Bella takes pride in being a powerhouse in the Women’s Division. Her previous finisher, The Rack Attack, was a symbol of strength for The Fearless One, considering she was one of the only women who delivered those kinds of powerhouse moves.
Last week, we saw her give up a chance to appear on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ to return to the ring again, after injury. While she was medically cleared, Nikki was asked to think of a different finisher, considering she was coming back after suffering a broken neck. She was advised to think of submission-based move in this episode, and she apparently did so. Unfortunately, we’ll only get to know what it is on the next episode of Total Divas.
Ummmm, we also watch SmackDown, so we know what it is.
#1 Bayley helped Nikki get in ring-shape
The Huggable One, Bayley, made a cameo on Total Divas this week. She helped facilitate Nikki Bella’s in-ring return by helping her get her momentum back inside the ring. While the Four Horsewomen have steered clear of Total Divas so far, this was a welcome cameo from one of WWE's finest. R-Truth also made a cameo in this episode, professing his love for dogs over cats.
