Will Kofi make history this year?
Will Kofi make history this year?

If there's a momentous time for WWE to genuinely push the envelope for possibly the greatest WrestleMania of all time, it is right now.

Vince McMahon's billion dollar company is in a very favorable position, with the creative team producing some of the finest storylines in recent memory, especially the ones involving Becky Lynch and Kofi Kingston.

While Roman Reigns and Batista's return have caught worldwide attention, it is Kofi's underdog journey and willingness to hold the WWE Championship for once, that has the entire WWE Universe rooting for the 37-year old veteran.

Highly regarded as Mr. Royal Rumble, it's highly impressive to see Kingston being in such a prime position today, with the company reportedly locking him for a slugfest against 'The New' Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.

With The New Day's elite member now rumored to have the biggest match of his career at the Grandest Stage of Them All, one wonders how this all will pan out, especially after the recent inclusion of Kevin Owens.

There's no denying that all the fans are riding high on the bandwagon of 'Kofi Mania', and with the company likely to maximize their investment in the former Intercontinental Champion, will Kofi finally realize his dream at MetLife Stadium?

Here are 5 things WWE are secretly telling us about Kofi Kingston's Road to WrestleMania 35

#1 The same story was supposed to impel Mustafa Ali to the top

Would Mustafa return with a bang?
Would Mustafa return with a bang?

There's absolutely no denying that Mustafa Ali possesses the same mannerisms, character, and substance, as the former Intercontinental Champion, Kofi Kingston.

Considering that Ali suffered an unfortunate eye injury during his jaw-dropping encounter with Randy Orton, the Heart of 205 Live was coerced out of action from the WWE Championship match at the Elimination Chamber.

Out goes Mustafa, in comes Kofi Kingston. The 37-year old veteran instantly replaced Mustafa in the Gauntlet match and literally brought the house down with his undeniable athletic prowess.

The fans were left amazed with the way the creative team presented Kofi that night and his excellent performance ascended his credibility heading into Elimination Chamber.

Since being an iron man in such situations always works, it's understandable that the same spots and ascension was planned for Mustafa Ali.

While it's unfortunate that Ali was sidelined from in-ring action, Kingston's valor and heart came on full display in the Gauntlet match and was a pivotal role in stunning the entire complexion of the WWE Championship scene on the blue brand.

#2 Fastlane was not the right time for Daniel Bryan to drop the belt to Kofi

Bryan has been superb as a heel
Bryan has been superb as a heel

While we have been quite impressed with Kofi Kingston's versatility, let's take a moment to appreciate how compelling 'The New' Daniel Bryan has been, as a heel.

Bryan's savage assaults to his opponents and the WWE Universe have propelled him to a different stratosphere of heels, with the WWE Champion continuing to be an irreplaceable asset to the blue brand.

Considering that the two were locked in to clash at Fastlane for the most coveted prize in sports entertainment, the decision to bring Owens as a replacement for Kofi seems very calculative, at this stage.

With the WWE Universe wanting to see Kofi win the WWE Championship, Fastlane didn't seem like an ideal time for Vince McMahon to pull the plug on Bryan's extremely incredible run.

Regardless of the fact that the former Intercontinental Champion deserves to hold the WWE Championship, let's not forget how conniving Bryan has been at his job.

#3 Vince McMahon wants the same momentum for him as Becky Lynch

Is this the right call?
Is this the right call?

Vince McMahon's decision to endorse Kevin Owens instead of Kofi Kingston has brought a serious alteration to WWE's WrestleMania plans for this year.

Considering that Becky Lynch is perhaps the hottest thing in the entire industry at the moment, Vince's choice to derail Kofi's push could gravitate more attention to his current position.

There's no denying that Becky Lynch's straight fire attitude has brought an element of rejuvenation and excitement in the women's division.

However, WWE is telling a completely different tale with Kofi Kingston, with the company laying more emphasis on his 11-year long journey to the top of the industry and his underdog like mannerisms are perfectly fitting the bill on the Road to WrestleMania 35.

While Mr. McMahon did replace Kofi with Kevin Owens, he definitely wants the audience to be totally behind the former Intercontinental Champion whilst garnering nuclear heat for his authoritative role.

#4 SmackDown Live is the place where Superstars really get an opportunity

Remember this match between Sami and Kofi?
Remember this match between Sami and Kofi?

Whether it is Edge, AJ Styles, Becky Lynch, Jeff Hardy, Daniel Bryan, Kofi Kingston or The Miz, there's no denying that SmackDown Live has always been an influential brand in bringing the spotlight on stars who may not necessarily get the same adulation on the company's flagship show, Monday Night Raw.

A significant example would also include Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens' journey in 2017 when both the Superstars were in an engaging feud with Shane McMahon.

Considering that Kofi Kingston is receiving such a massive push on the blue brand, it's about time that SmackDown Live continues to ascend their credibility and build more stars.

Moreover, even Becky Lynch's meteoric rise to the top of the industry was so organic. The WWE Universe have always been vocal about how pivotal SmackDown has been in elevating stars.

In a show where 'The New' Daniel Bryan, Asuka, and R-Truth are holding the most prestigious belts on the roster, it is a testament to SmackDown's indispensability to push a different league of superstars.

While The New Day has been a popular act on the main roster, there's no denying that Kofi Kingston would have never received the same main event status on Monday Night Raw.

#5 Xavier Woods and Big E Langston could seriously turn on Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35

Will Kofi's dream end on unfortunate terms?
Will Kofi's dream end on unfortunate terms?

While there have always been speculations on WWE possibly pulling the trigger on a New Day implosion, this is the most genuine team for the creative team to unleash their creative juices and pull off something spectacular.

There's no denying that the New Day has been responsible in altering the tag-team division with their undeniable charisma and wit, but with Kofi garnering much of the spotlight, there's a chance that Xavier Woods and Big E Langston could benefit from the situation.

Since Kingston is locked in to walk out as the WWE Champion in New Jersey, WWE could capitalize on the 37-year old's momentum and pulling off a fantastic heel turn at the end of the night.

Imagine the heat both Xavier and Big E would garner. Despite the fact that many fans would not want to see the band break up anytime soon, Kofi's ascension to the top of the industry may coerce the creative team to think otherwise.
