Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn worked together before their WWE careers began as tag team partners and rivals on the independent wrestling scene. Sami Zayn signed to WWE as an NXT Superstar in 2013, and Kevin Owens joined the company a year later.
The real-life best friends had a great rivalry over the NXT Championship during their days on the Black and Gold Brand before they moved on separately to WWE's main roster.
The pair reunited in late 2017 and scored defeats over Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura, as well as Breezango. The duo even had a feud together with AJ Styles.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn's time as a team was cut short when they both had to take a break to undergo surgery. Zayn on his knee and shoulder, and Owens also on his knee. The duo had a brief reunion to take on The New Day in 2019 before going their separate ways once more.
