5 WWE RAW and SmackDown alliances that could split up very soon indeed

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus could certainly implode very soon indeed
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus could certainly implode very soon indeed

Nothing in the world lasts forever, and this is especially true on WWE RAW and SmackDown where alliances are made and subsequently ended in a matter of months.

There are so many teams on WWE RAW right now, that could come to an end in the blink of an eye. From them could be born new feuds and conflicts that could take the WWE landscape by storm, soon after.

The same holds true for SmackDown. However, the cracks and fissures are a little more difficult to see when it comes to the blue brand.

So, with that said here are five teams that could split up on WWE RAW and SmackDown in the days to follow.

#5 Could Sheamus turn on Drew McIntyre on WWE RAW, kicking off a feud for the title?

It is not often that Vince McMahon breaks new ground, but he's certainly doing so on WWE RAW by having a man who's been a heel for a long time, in Sheamus be portrayed as Drew McIntyre's best friend. This stems from their history and as cool as it is to see that the two men are on the same page, we know that it's only a matter of time before Sheamus snaps. In fact, do not be surprised if this happens on the Legend's Night WWE RAW special, with a lot more people watching.

Sheamus and Drew McIntyre have already come to blows on WWE RAW, but they have been showcased as two brothers who fight and then make up.

The storyline is in place for Sheamus to turn on the WWE Champion and embark on a massive program that stretches out for many weeks. Sheamus will certainly be elevated as a result of this program, and Drew McIntyre will finally have a storyline with a long build.

#4 Could Charlotte Flair turn on her very own partner Asuka, to claim a shot at the WWE RAW Women's Championship?

The WWE RAW Women's Championship hasn't felt prestigious since Becky Lynch embarked on a hiatus. And this is for no fault of WWE RAW Women's Champion, Asuka, because she has done everything that has been asked of her, but because of the way that she has been booked.

Even though Asuka and Charlotte Flair are, technically, the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, it is clear that one is guaranteed to turn on the other, to start a feud for the WWE RAW Women's Championship at some point in the future.

Charlotte Flair is more likely to turn heel as compared to Asuka, primarily because she works better as a heel. It is completely in her wheelhouse to turn on Asuka and book herself in a massive title feud that stretches all the way to WrestleMania.

Do not expect Charlotte Flair and Asuka to carry the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships for far too long.

#3 Otis is almost guaranteed to destroy his SmackDown partner Chad Gable, at some point judging from the following Tweets

And now, we come to the first entry from the SmackDown brand. Otis and Chad Gable seem to have formed some sort of affiliation on SmackDown at the moment, but any losses are being attributed by Chad Gable to Otis, who is taking none of the blame for his team's failure at all. This alliance is a ticking time bomb and should explode, resulting in a singles feud for Otis very soon.

Just look at the content of the Tweet that's been shared above and the one that's been shared below. Otis vs. Chad Gable as a SmackDown feud is almost guaranteed to happen because if it doesn't, it is impossible to surmise why Heavy Machinery needed to go their separate ways in the first place, even when they were a red-hot act.

Both men have an amateur wrestling background and if the feud does happen, Otis will be able to show his serious side to the world.

#2 Are Reckoning's days in the WWE RAW faction RETRIBUTION numbered, following her fallout with Mustafa Ali?

Perhaps no faction in the history of WWE RAW has been booked as weirdly as RETRIBUTION has, especially if you factor in the momentum that the group first came into the roster with. Do you remember how Mustafa Ali berated Reckoning, aka Mia Yim when she lost her matches on WWE RAW? It does seem like it's only a matter of time until she parts ways with the collective.

Especially at a time when Asuka has nobody to realistically challenge her for the WWE RAW Women's Championship, someone like Reckoning would have made for a worthy opponent in a singles feud.

Unfortunately, she is saddled and burdened with this gimmick and there is just something very 'lower-mid-card' about the RETRIBUTION brand right now. Not because these men and women aren't talented, because they certainly are, but the way that they have been booked does not do justice to their ability. Reckoning splitting up from RETRIBUTION could launch her to the next level as a top WWE RAW star.

#1 Jey Uso still needs to exact revenge for the chair shot across his back against The Tribal Chief of SmackDown- his cousin, Roman Reigns

Even though Roman Reigns is still the top dog of SmackDown thanks to his cousin Jey Uso, none can dispute that the relationship between them is strained. Do check out what his fellow SmackDown star, Big E has to say about Jey Uso and his partnership with Roman Reigns, by clicking on the video linked right above.

This angle is yet to be explored because when Jey Uso reaches boiling point and cannot take the punishment that is being dished out by his authoritarian cousin, he could certainly turn babyface again and go for the WWE Universal Championship.

Yes, he has come up short against Roman Reigns on two separate occasions, but this SmackDown rivalry does need to come full-circle for this storyline to make sense.

Do you think there are more alliances on WWE RAW and SmackDown that could end sooner rather than later? Do let us know in the comments.
