We pick 5 dreams contests for Cena that we're yet to see, in WWE!

John Cena is not just a WWE superstar. Today, he's a part of pop culture, with countless memes, gifs, and film and television appearances, under his belt. He's probably the most recognizable figure from WWE that even those who don't follow the product can instantly recognize. He's a hero to children and society alike, with more 'Make a Wish' appearances than any other superstar in history.

Many wrestlers place the man on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling already, alongside legends like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Andre The Giant, in various permutations and combinations. For over fifteen years, he's done it all. He's seen superstars come and go, and still rules the roost as the top guy in the company.

For someone who's carried the brand on his shoulder for so long, it is impressive how he still is firing on all cylinders at this stage in his WWE career. Because of Cena's 'never say die' attitude, we pick 5 dream matches for the legend.

These are men on the WWE roster that Cena has not yet faced. We're certain that he's on a collision course with them, very soon. Until then, they will all remain dream matches only. Without further ado, here's our list.

#5- Roman Reigns

Two men who will show one another 'No Mercy'
Two men who will show one another 'No Mercy'

Let's get the most obvious pick out of the way first. Roman Reigns and John Cena collide in a Wrestlemania worthy match, very soon. The two men have made their feud seem very personal indeed and they are spitting fire on the microphone, leading up to their epic contest.

This is a match that we all saw coming but expected only at a stage like Wrestlemania. Instead, we get it at a B-pay-per-view event called 'No Mercy'. Many see this match as a passing of the torch as Roman Reigns, to many fans, is the modern day John Cena. He's Vince McMahon's golden boy and has been groomed to be the face of WWE.

With only a few days to go before these two men lock horns for the very first time, we know that their contest should be absolutely spectacular. The build-up has been excellent and these two men always deliver on the big stage, when it comes to putting on a grand show.

Let's move on to four other men who are yet to face Super Cena, then!

#4 Bobby Roode

Roode and Cena can have a 'glorious' program
Roode and Cena can have a 'glorious' program

Yes, we know that John Cena and Bobby Roode are on different brands. We also realize that he's only been on the main roster for a few weeks, as of right now. However, we believe that when they do meet, the clash will be 'glorious'. Both men are fabulous in the ring, and fantastic when it comes to cutting promos and connecting with the WWE Universe.

Rumours have been doing the rounds that WWE is very high on Bobby Roode. The company realizes that he is a potential goldmine, and therefore, we see Cena in his immediate future. Roode has also named Cena as his dream opponent if he ever gets to wrestle a match at Wrestlemania.

Imagine this contest to be a modern day version of Ric Flair vs. Curt Hennig. Make the match already, WWE bookers!

#3 Finn Balor

This seems like a program that The Demon King desperately needs currently!
This seems like a program that The Demon King desperately needs currently!

Another opponent that Cena has never faced is 'The Demon King', Finn Balor. This contest is not only inevitable but also essential!

Finn Balor received a bigger push than Roman Reigns when he first made his debut on RAW. He became the first ever Universal Champion only twenty-seven days after his debut. Unfortunately, he lost all the momentum he once had because of an injury he sustained at SummerSlam 2016 and has never been able to recover. A program against Cena may do him a world of good.

Despite what is said about Cena and his golden 'shovel', he has made many stars over the course of his career. Some of them were indie darlings such as Sami Zayn, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens, men that Cena elevated to the pinnacle. Finn Balor and John Cena have never wrestled in the past, and we think that their collision could be titanic.

As long as Finn Balor and his demon persona are protected, he could come out of a program with Cena smelling of roses. WWE could once again capitalize on the equity they once saw in him.

#2 Shane McMahon

This is most definitely a Wrestlemania worthy contest!
This is most definitely a Wrestlemania worthy contest!

Despite the fact that Shane McMahon and John Cena have been a part of WWE forever, they have never faced each other in a singles match. They have been opponents in various tag team environments, but never in one-on-one combat.

We have seen how Shane McMahon can step up and deliver when put into the ring with a man who can wrestle. John Cena certainly can, and as familiar faces from a bygone era, this is a match that should appeal to members of the WWE Universe with a passing interest in the product.

We deem this clash highly likely to take place, very soon indeed. McMahon looks like he will be stepping into a ring against Kevin Owens very soon, and certainly looks like he is in ring shape. If this clash were to happen, it would be absolutely colossal.

#1 Samoa Joe

Two men who share a very close bond
Two men who share a very close bond

Samoa Joe and John Cena may not be as big a match as some of the other contests we've mentioned. Why then is it at Number 1?

The two men started out in the business together. In fact, a match between the two men helped WWE first notice John Cena. The rest, as they say, is history. Joe went on to TNA, to carve his legacy there. Cena became the top dog (not the Big Dog) in WWE.

Both men deserve a chance to shine at a WWE pay-per-view event, right now. If given the chance to work a program together, we're certain they could absolutely do wonders.

So there you have it. John Cena has many dream matches left, in the pipeline. We did not mention include The Undertaker, a man he has faced in the past, but never on a grand scale. Can you think of any other opponents that he is yet to take on, one-on-one? Let us know in the comments.
