5 WWE Superstars with remarkable family members

Who has a connection to this arm wreslting world champion?

Some of WWE’s superstars are the children of former WWE performers or are married to fellow superstars. Others have relatives who work in very normal careers or at the very least have done nothing to get headlines in their particular fields.

Then there are those WWE superstars with interesting connections, both within the world of wrestling and in other industries, like mainstream sports and even obscure sports. Here are five such superstars and their noteworthy relatives.

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho’s father may have been more well-known that his son in some circles.

Chris Jericho is known all over the world as a decorated professional wrestler in Japan, WCW and the WWE, as he won multiple titles and collected the Intercontinental Championship a record nine times. He’s also the lead singer of the rock and roll band Fozzy.

Since his family’s Canadian, though, his father’s claim to fame may actually carry more weight. Ted Irvine was a pro hockey player and even played for the NHL’s New York Rangers, scoring a career-high 26 goals in the 1973-74 season. Not bad for the “Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah’s” dad.

Roman Reigns

Rosey was quite an intimidating performer during his run with the WWE.

Pretty much everyone knows that Roman Reigns is a member of the Anoa’i family, a wrestling dynasty that includes The Rock, Umaga, The Wild Samoans, Rikishi, Yokozuna, the Usos and more. That has been well-documented at times during the three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s career.

What hasn’t been brought up as much is that Sika, Reigns’ father, had another son reach the WWE – Rosey. The one time tag team champion, who is obviously also Reigns’ brother, has since gone on to own a barbecue restaurant but more recently went through some health issues.

Aiden English

Aiden English’s wife, Shaul, is the daughter of the late Eddie Guerrero.

Most people know Aiden English, real name Matt Rehwoldt, as one-half of the Vaudevillains tag team. Alongside Simon Gotch, English won the NXT Tag Team Championship and, after getting called up to the main roster earlier this year, the duo has a shot at the WWE tag titles at Extreme Rules.

But English is also a married man, and his wife’s maiden name is Shaul Guerrero. Known in the NXT ranks as Raquez Diaz, Shaul is the daughter of the late Eddie Guerrero and wife Vickie Guerrero. That makes English the son-in-law of Eddie Guerrero, which is pretty cool for him.

Paige

Paige, who won both the NXT and WWE women’s belts, is the daughter of a well-known British women’s wrestler.

There are plenty of examples of pro wrestlers’ sons going on to perform in the WWE – Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Randy Orton, Curtis Axel, the Usos and Roman Reigns, to name a few. Additionally, there are a couple female wrestlers like Charlotte and Natalya who are the daughters of male wrestlers.

But Paige is unique in that she is the daughter of a female performer. Saraya Knight has won titles in various promotions, making her daughter’s career path in WWE fitting. Paige has won both the NXT and Divas championships, the latter on her first night on the main roster.

Bo Dallas

Bo Dallas and wife Sarah Backman celebrate their marriage with a kiss.

Bo Dallas may take the cake for interesting relative connections. First of all, being Bray Wyatt’s brother, Irwin R. Schyster’s son and Blackjack Mulligan’s grandson – not to mention Barry Windham’s nephew – makes him well-grounded in pro wrestling history.

But Dallas’ unique ties don’t stop there. His wife, Sarah Backman, was also an NXT performer until she requested her release in 2014. That’s not her craziest claim to fame, though, as Backman is an eight-time world arm wrestling champion. I Bo-Lieve we have a winner!
