#5. WWE NXT Supertar Gunther

After competing for more than a decade in different promotions, Gunther joined WWE in 2019. The 34-year-old regularly competed on NXT UK for nearly two years, during which he won the NXT United Kingdom Championship once.

Earlier in his WWE career, the former NXT United Kingdom Champion had the chance to move to the United States. However, he refused. In an interview with PW Insider in January 2020, he explained his decision.

"It’s a true story. Yeah. My base is in Europe and I don’t want to change that, because I like the way of living in Germany and I like my life I have there. Yeah. I can only be a good performer to the company and also to the fans if I’m a happy person in real life. I don’t believe that living in America would be for me. That’s why," he said.

Meanwhile, other reports also suggested that Gunther's wife was the reason he preferred to stay in Europe. Nevertheless, the Austrian wrestler's marriage reportedly ended a few months ago.

In January 2022, Gunther defeated Nathan Frazer in his final match on NXT UK before moving permanently to the United States to join NXT 2.0. The Austrian is also now in a new relationship with NXT UK star Jinny.
