#2 Edge should win the WWE Championship

The Ultimate Opportunist knows what it means to win the WWE Championship better than most. Edge's career took off and reached great heights after his first WWE Championship victory in January 2006.
He is an eleven-time Champion, and retired in April 2011 as the World Heavyweight Champion. When the Rated-R Superstar miraculously returned in the Royal Rumble match in January 2020, he wanted to end his career on his terms.

The forty-seven-year-old won the Royal Rumble match again this year and challenged the invincible Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. However, Edge could not win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35, but the story could have been different if he had challenged the WWE Champion.
Edge was last competing on SmackDown, but he can compete on both brands because of his status as a part-timer. The Hall of Famer could win the WWE Championship again if he jumps to RAW.
The Rated-R Superstar was initially supposed to face Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 37, but those plans were shelved. If that match had taken place, Edge would be holding the WWE Championship right now.
Chances are that Edge does win the WWE Championship somewhere down the line, but the timing remains unclear. He has never been better and more vicious. His determination led him to return to in-ring competition, and it will probably earn him the WWE Championship again.
