6 things WWE subtly told us at Survivor Series 2019: Vince McMahon's next major star disclosed, Big TLC title match revealed

The Fiend and Bray Wyatt's rivalry took a new turn
The Fiend and Bray Wyatt's rivalry took a new turn

WWE Survivor Series 2019 is in the books and even though it may sound like recency bias, we believe it was the best big 4 PPVs this year. The show was great as a whole, with only the main event being slightly disappointing.

The main event was the Women's match between Becky Lynch, Shayna Baszler, and Bayley and we don't know why it main evented the show when it didn't have the required payoff of Ronda Rousey. The assumption was that it was put on last for that very reason. It wasn't, but we're still happy that the women got another main event.

With that said, the overall show was fantastic, with the Men's Elimination match being the best one since 2016. It took a while for the crowd to wake up but if you haven't seen the show, we suggest you give it a shot because it was fantastic. Here's what WWE subtly told us at WWE Survivor Series 2019:

#6 Asuka's rift with Charlotte confirms a TLC title feud

Charlotte Flair and Asuka had a falling out
Charlotte Flair and Asuka had a falling out

A year ago, there was nothing but respect between Asuka and Charlotte Flair after The Queen ended The Empress' undefeated streak at WrestleMania 34. All of that is gone with Asuka as a heel.

The Kabuki Warriors have already beaten Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch once, but Flair defeated them when teaming with Natalya. Given that Becky Lynch doesn't have a feud right now and has been involved with The Kabuki Warriors, the rift that saw Asuka spit green mist on Flair, allowing Lacey Evans to get the pin on her.

This seemingly confirms the TLC advertisement from the arena which revealed that Lynch and Flair will be challenging The Kabuki Warriors for the tag team titles. It also said that it's a TLC match so expect fireworks next month!

#5 Keith Lee is going to be the next breakout star in WWE

Keith Lee had an incredible showing
Keith Lee had an incredible showing

Rumors were floating about this past week that two NXT superstars that Vince McMahon is high on are Matt Riddle and Keith Lee. He reportedly sees a "Shawn Michaels" quality in Riddle because of The King Of Bros' rebellious nature.

However, it's no surprise as to why McMahon would be high on Lee. He has a unique look and is way more athletic than a man that size could be. Simply put, Keith Lee doesn't seem human and he's everything Vince McMahon looks for in a Superstar.

He was given the best showing out of all 15 Superstars in the match and in our opinion, was the star of the match. Just to put it in perspective, he went all the way till the end, standing toe-to-toe with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

When a superstar pins the face of Monday Night RAW (Seth Rollins) clean, it's clear that there are big plans ahead for them. And we can guarantee you, Vince McMahon will have huge plans for Keith Lee in a matter of time. We can see him getting the call-up as soon as WrestleMania 36 season wraps up.

#4 Daniel Byan's babyface arc takes a whole new turn

Daniel Bryan got the crowd hot
Daniel Bryan got the crowd hot

Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt didn't have as much hype as it should have, especially given that their feud has restarted after over five years. While the match had a slow start, it built up well and was a fantastic piece of storytelling.

The only thing that's tarnishing these kinds of matches is the bright red lights. It's not pleasing on the eye to watch on a screen and we can't imagine it's very great to watch in person. With that said, Daniel Bryan continued to prove why he's one of the best in the world as he got the crowd completely behind him.

Bryan desperately fought back but came short but even in defeat, he came out looking much better. The feud has been about Bryan's mental state as well and he acknowledged killing the "Yes!" movement on SmackDown, justifying his heel turn even as a babyface.

For the first time in a long time, he brought back the "Yes!" chants, doing it in unison with the crowd. His babyface turn has taken a new life and his character arc is going to be one of the most fascinating things to watch on SmackDown.

#3 WWE will try to milk Shield nostalgia, but it won't work without Dean Ambrose

The two men had a brief throwback to the Shield days
The two men had a brief throwback to the Shield days

It's been over half a year since Dean Ambrose left WWE and he's taken a new life as Jon Moxley, reaching a new level as a performer in AEW, perhaps the best he's ever been as a singles star in his career.

When Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are involved in a match, whether it's together or against each other, WWE loves to have a little Shield throwback and it happened tonight as they briefly aligned, whether it was the 2-on-1 Shield-style beatdowns as well as the tease of the powerbomb on the table. Fortunately or unfortunately, they weren't able to do so, perhaps indicating that it's not complete without the third man.

While both men did fantastic in the match, it's clear that WWE will still try to milk Shield nostalgia, but the reality is that it isn't the same without Dean Ambrose. Hopefully, that's the story they tell instead if they ever cross paths again soon. However, that seems unlikely as they're on different brands. Triple H said that the brand split will be more "defined" after Survivor Series.

#2 Dominick 2020 is happening

Dominick had a huge introduction, but his arrival is yet to happen
Dominick had a huge introduction, but his arrival is yet to happen

Brock Lesnar vs Rey Mysterio further affirmed for the third year in a row why The Beast Incarnate works far better with smaller opponents. It's something about the underdog dynamic that always works. It also affirmed what AJ Styles told me last year before WrestleMania weekend, and that's the fact that Brock Lesnar can have a great match when he wants.

Rey Mysterio and Brock Lesnar had that dynamic and it translated beautifully in the ring. Mysterio got a great amount of offense in and took a massive beating as expected, which prompted Dominick to come out with the white towel.

It was going to lead to Lesnar beating him down, but Mysterio low-blowed him and Dominick did the same. Dominick finally showed the fruits of his wrestling training with Lance Storm as he hit the 619 alongside his father and even hit a frog splash on The Beast Incarnate.

For a moment there, they made us believe that Mysterio would win, but it wasn't to be, as expected. It essentially confirmed the rumors that Dominick will be debuting in WWE in 2020. From the look of things, he's going to be skipping NXT and jumping straight to the main roster.

#1 WWE made a big statement to AEW with NXT winning

Shayna Baszler secured the win for NXT
Shayna Baszler secured the win for NXT

We'll give WWE credit where it's due. We had openly stated an opinion assuming that NXT wouldn't be winning at Survivor Series, even predicting that they would get the shortest end of the stick. Instead, the yellow brand won decisively and it's the biggest push that NXT has ever gotten.

The NXT Women's team, Roderick Strong, Lio Rush (on the Kickoff show), and Shayna Baszler picked up the win for NXT, with the yellow brand winning 4 and SmackDown coming second with 2 and RAW last with just 1.

We must admit, we're pleased by the fact that RAW was last, especially given that they would constantly beat SmackDown over the last few years (3 in a row).

This time around, it was NXT that got the big win and it's clear why. WWE wants to make a statement to AEW and giving NXT a positive spotlight with a dominant victory. It truly establishes NXT as the third brand in WWE and they were made to look as strong as possible as the Wednesday Night War with AEW continues!
