6 unselfish things Brock Lesnar has done backstage in WWE

Brock Lesnar is an icon in the WWE, but he doesn't get the respect he deserves from the WWE Universe, especially in recent years. Fans have booed and criticized The Beast for being a part-timer, but what a lot of fans don't understand is the legitimacy he brings to the product, as well as a story.

What fans don't also know about the former UFC Heavyweight Champion is the respect he has for his peers and how he has helped numerous Superstars backstage.

Let's take a look at 6 unselfish things that Brock Lesnar has done backstage in WWE:

#6 Helps Big Show

Brock Lesnar has helped many Superstars revive their careers in the WWE, and one of them being Big Show, which happened in Lesnar's first run with WWE in the early 2000s. Show and Lesnar's feud helped bring Big Show back to the top of the card, and he credits Lesnar for his career resurgence.

While speaking to Corey Graves on the After The Bell podcast, Big Show revealed that Lesnar personally asked WWE to work with Big Show, and told WWE that they were "sleeping on him" and being underused.

“I owe my entire resurgence of my career to Brock Lesnar. For the longest time, I was still napalm when I came back from OVW, and Brock’s main event [opponent] somehow got stuck on a plane. Jack Lanza, in a house show, threw me in with Brock, and Brock and I tore the house down.

They were asking Brock who’s you next opponent he said, ‘I want to work with Show. He’s a giant. He can work. You guys are just sleeping on him.’ (H/T SeScoops)

Lesnar had interacted and worked with Big Show previously when Show was moved to OVW, WWE's developmental territory where the likes of Lesnar, Randy Orton, John Cena, and Batista were all coming through.

#5 Paige said Lesnar provided her good advice

Brock Lesnar is a hulking man who looks and sounds like a scary person to talk to, but in reality, he is reportedly a sweet person who is willing to give advice. Former Divas Champion Paige revealed that Lesnar was always willing to give her advice and that he's a sweet and wonderful person to talk to.

“He’s scary, he is definitely scary when you first meet him. He’s an intimidating man for sure, like massive. Once you get to know him he’s also very sweet. If I wanted advice too from him, I could go to him and he would be like, ‘Sure I’ll give it to you’, you know. He’s really wonderful too," said Paige.

It's a well-known fact that Lesnar likes his privacy and is a misanthrope, as Paul Heyman revealed previously. But, The Beast is also a person who is willing to help others out, as you will find out in the various anecdotes in this article.

#4 Loved working with R-Truth and wants to work with him again

R-Truth is a comedic genius and one of the most entertaining Superstars in WWE currently. The veteran Superstar has had quite a few supremely entertaining segments in WWE in recent years, one of which came earlier this year, in the build-up to Royal Rumble.

Truth was in the ring with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in a hilarious segment, where the former confronted Lesnar, which had even The Beast in splits. Lesnar was seemingly very impressed with Truth's ability to make a segment entertaining that he spoke to R-Truth about them working together in the future and discussed various ideas.

“Brock actually has been pitching ideas. He wants to work with me doing something because of that segment. He pitched a couple ideas. He and I talked afterwards. The sky’s the limit. This business is always changing, and I’m always changing with things,” said R-Truth in an interview with Uproxx.

This is one future feud that I'm very excited about and hope it happens soon!

#3 Paid drinks of fellow Superstars

Another anecdote of Brock Lesnar's generosity comes from back in 2015 when a snowstorm led to the Superstars forced to stay indoors. The RAW show was of a smaller scale with taped reruns of the previous night's Royal Rumble match, while some Superstars were interviewed backstage.

A lot of the Superstars and production crew were in a bar, but it was set to close soon. Lesnar, somehow, convinced the bartender to keep the bar open, as per WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.

Corey Graves, on his After The Bell podcast, revealed that The Beast, kept the "bar wide open", paying for everyone's drinks.

"The show was very interesting. They re-aired the Royal Rumble match from the night before [and aired] a few backstage interviews with Roman, Brock and many others, and allegedly, [the] now WWE Champion paid a significant amount of money to keep the bar wide open for everybody to make sure they made the best of a crappy situation," said Graves (H/T WrestlingInc)

#2 He likes Drew McIntyre and wants to put him over

Brock Lesnar is set to defend his WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 against Drew McIntyre, who won the men's Royal Rumble match to set up a match with The Beast.

This is McIntyre's big opportunity to grab his first WWE Championship and it seems that Lesnar wants to put over The Scottish Psychopath at The Show of Shows.

Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue revealed that Lesnar is "really invested" in McIntyre's push:

"Lesnar is doing everything he can to put Drew McIntyre over and he's been doing that since the Royal Rumble match. Brock is really invested in this and it's great to see. It really shows the amount of respect between the two men and it really shows how good a match we're going to get.

McIntyre himself revealed that Lesnar has been helping him and teaching him things that not many could teach. McIntyre said that Lesnar "gets it" more than any other person he has talked with about pro wrestling.

#1 Helps Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair

Last year's Crown Jewel PPV had a lot of issues for WWE Superstars away from the ring, with a lot of Superstars stranded in Saudi Arabia due to technical issues with the charter plane. But, there were others who featured on the PPV that also had some issues with their plane on the way to the PPV.

Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Jimmy Hart had a scary experience while they were traveling to the show, as their private plane's tires burst when it landed in Iceland.

But, Lesnar came to their rescue, as he offered the trio to ride in his plane as he made his way to Saudi Arabia, as per PWInsider. Hogan said a "friend from Minnesota", which is where Lesnar is from, helped them make their way to Saudi Arabia.

Hogan and Flair were captains of their teams in a 5-on-5 match between Team Hogan and Team Flair, which was won by Team Hogan. Lesnar, meanwhile, squashed Cain Velasquez, in the latter's debut match in WWE.
