However, we have seen several submission moves such as the Crossface, Sharpshooter and Boston Crab being generously used by different WWE Superstars over the years.

Similarly, the Spear, Samoan Drop and Chokeslam are some of the other finishers that are now extensively used by different WWE Superstars.

Some iconic finishers have been handed over to current WWE Superstars by other wrestlers. In this article, we will look at six WWE Superstars who got their finishers from other wrestlers.

#6 WWE Superstar Ricochet got the Recoil from Chris Jericho

Ricochet is known as one of the most athletic Superstars in all of WWE today, and is known for his high-flying moves. However, his finisher, The 630, started to take a toll on his body. So, he decided to adopt another finisher during some of his matches.

The WWE Universe was quick to notice that Ricochet’s new finisher, known as the Recoil, was very similar to Chris Jericho’s Codebreaker. Y2J soon revealed that The One and Only took permission from him to use the move in WWE.

"Ricochet actually text me and asked me if he could use the Codebreaker. He said he was doing a 630, which is this crazy, dippy, flippy, splash and it was starting to hurt him doing it every night," Jericho said. "So, he was looking for something a little less impactful as far as doing something from the top rope, and he asked if he could do the Codebreaker.
"I said absolutely! But you might want to change the name of it," he added. "People might think its associated with me, but you know, I haven't been there for two years, so here today gone later today."

While Jericho is in AEW now, he was happy to let a young Superstar like Ricochet use his move in WWE.

#5 WWE Superstar Dominik Dijakovic started using the Tazmission after seeking Taz’s permission

Dominik Dijakovic is one of the new Superstars on WWE RAW. Now known as T-Bar, the former NXT Superstar is a vital member of RETRIBUTION.

Dijakovic has used several finishers during his time in NXT. However, Feast Your Eyes is the most effective one he has used in the black and gold brand.

The RETRIBUTION member started using the Tazmission in 2019 after taking permission from Taz publicly on Twitter. He wrote,

"Hello @OfficialTAZ, do you mind if I start using your Tazmission hold on WWE programming and events to defeat my opponents? I have found it to be a very effective manoeuvre. Thank you."

While Dijakovic proceeded to delete the tweet, the ECW Legend responded back and appreciated him for asking his permission first. Taz later revealed on Twitter that he held a private discussion with the former NXT star and gave him his blessings to use the Tazmission as his finisher. Taz wrote,

"Just to wrap up yesterday topic. I DID reach out to @DijakovicWWE via DM and we communicated several times privately yesterday...I DID give him the nod with him using the Tazmission. He is a talented guy with a bright future, best of luck to him!"

#4 WWE Superstar Big E got his finisher from Curt Hawkins

Big E was the powerhouse of The New Day. However, the 2020 WWE Draft separated the big man from Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

Big E is now looking to go on a solo run in WWE, and we could see him reach new heights in the company. The New Day member has now revealed an interesting story behind his finisher, The Big Ending.

On After The Bell with Corey Graves, Big E said that Curt Hawkins helped him out in WWE during his early days and even gave him his finisher.

"There's been a lot of people along the way... I feel like, just kind of a lot of people who have been there and helped me. Curt Hawkins - when I was super green - my only finisher I've ever used is the Big Ending. The one finish I've always had is the Big Ending. I remember Curt Hawkins gave that to me in 2009. I think he'd been on the road and he was back. For some reason, We were just kind of in the ring... I think there was - I'm not sure of the worker, I should know this - it was called the bodybag and he showed it to me. I forgot how he came up with the Big Ending. But, yeah, a guy like Curt Hawkins giving me that."

Big E has been using the finisher since 2009, and it has worked extremely well for him till now. Hopefully, the move will help him bag a world title in the near future.

#3 WWE Superstar Kevin Owens took the Stunner from ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin

Very few moves in WWE are as iconic as The Stunner. Made famous by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, we’ve seen many current Superstars use a modified version of the move in their arsenal.

Kevin Owens had been using the Pop Up Powerbomb as his finisher since his days in NXT and wanted to try something different. So the former WWE Universal Champion took permission from Austin to use the Stunner as his finisher.

“I felt like everybody was doing powerbombs left and right, and I wanted to try something else. And one day it occurred to me that no one does the stunner as a finishing move, but to me, it’s always been the best move."
"So I just went to Steve one day when he was here and I asked him, and he said, ‘I can’t believe nobody’s asked me this before, but of course you can use it. Do whatever you want with it."
"I did that out of respect for the people who’ve come before me. I would never want to do that without his approval."
"He gave me the approval and it’s working for me, so I have no intention of stopping and no intention of renaming it, either. It’s the stunner and it always will be the stunner.”

#2 WWE Superstar Seth Rollins took permission from Triple H to use the Pedigree

The Pedigree is a unique move in WWE that was made famous by Triple H. The finisher was synonymous with The Game during his heydays and we rarely saw another WWE Superstar even trying to attempt the move. However, all that changed when Set Rollins started using The Pedigree after getting the permission from Triple H

When Rollins asked permission to use the iconic finisher during matches, The Game was more than happy to give his approval.

“He asked. He came to me, and he was like, ‘How would you feel about it, but given the storyline and everything else, how would you feel about me using the Pedigree?’ I was like, ‘If you think that benefits you, please do. Like, I would be honored.’ And, you know, and it worked for him for a while. So yeah, I was happy for him to do it. You know, there’s moments in your career where there are things like they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So that for me, if he felt like it was meaningful to him, I was glad he could use it and get something out of it.”

Rollins used the move for several matches before moving back to his finisher known as the Stomp. However, we have seen him use the Pedigree to secure a win over Braun Strowman at WWE Clash Of Champions 2019.

#1 WWE Legend Mick Foley says The Mandible Claw belongs to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt now

Mick Foley was one of the most popular WWE Superstars of his time. The Hardcore Legend was ready to pull out all stops in a bid to entertain the WWE Universe. His versatility and never say never attitude helped him become one of the greatest Superstars of all time.

Bray Wyatt seems to have taken a page out of Foley’s book, and has gone through a few different gimmicks during his time in the company as well. Starting as Husky Harris in WWE, Wyatt has seen himself adopt the ‘The Eater of Worlds’ gimmick and then transform himself into ‘The Fiend’in 2019.

Along with character changes, Wyatt has also changed his finishing moves to keep his gimmicks unique. Wyatt is currently using the Mandible Claw as his finisher which was made famous by Foley, and he seems to have the Hardcore Legend's blessings as well.

"I think it's nice to look at the show and see your fingerprints here and there," Foley said. "Where, as ten years ago when I left, there were a lot of people who had grown up idolizing Ric [Flair], and Shawn [Michaels], and Bret [Hart], and you could see that in the work. So now you have guys like Bray, who told me years ago, 'Look, I'm doing something in a rocking chair,' because he had gotten a rocking chair from an interview that I did for Randy Orton. You see it a little bit with Aleister Black and the rocking, and Su Yung, and Rosemary, and I love it; Sami Callihan doing the cactus driver.
"And so, I feel for Bray because you want a finishing move that you can do to anyone at any time. The mandible claw... is something that is all [Bray's] now," he added.

Wyatt has slowly become one of the most interesting characters in WWE today and The Mandible Claw played a big role in his recent success on both RAW and SmackDown.
