AEW/WWE News: Chris Jericho reveals Vince McMahon's reaction to him signing for AEW

What's the story?

All Elite Wrestling shocked the world during their Double or Nothing Rally when Chris Jericho was revealed as one of their landmark signings.

Since then, it's been revealed earlier in the week that Jericho had held talks with WWE before signing with AEW, but did Vince McMahon know beforehand? Y2J insists he did, and revealed Vince's reaction to the news.

In case you didn't know...

Chris Jericho shocked the world with his appearance at the end of the AEW Double or Nothing Rally this week to send the wrestling community into meltdown. Y2J signed a three-year deal that will see him work with AEW but also be free to continue wrestling with NJPW.

The heart of the matter

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet via his YouTube channel, Chris Jericho answered questions about his AEW move - one of which was obviously about how a certain Mr McMahon reacted to the news.

I spoke to Vince before I signed, and he knew it. The words we exchanged were very amicable, and it wasn't like it was a surprise. Business is business. Vince McMahon is my friend; I respect him, I love the guy. No ill will whatsoever, just the business road took me this way. I would've been crazy not to do it because I might insult somebody. I think the first guy who would agree with that is Vince.

Y2J did leave the door open for a return to WWE in the future, though.
