Best and Worst of AEW All Out- Stunning upset, Former Impact Wrestling Champs arrive

All Out was a very solid show from the promotion
All Out was a very solid show from the promotion

I thought that there was a lot to like about All Out, the final destination for All Elite Wrestling before the product becomes a weekly fixture and hits our TV screens. Everyone knew that they had a point to prove, and I thought that they did so, to a great degree.

In this article, I shall illustrate what I liked and what I did not particularly care for, from the show that aired. Needless to say, the wrestling was great, but you would expect that from a promotion like All Elite Wrestling, which is more 'pro wrestling' than 'sports entertainment'.

I would love to hear your thoughts and views on the article as well, so I urge you to let me know what your opinions were in the comments below. Did you think that this was a good show, or did you think that it was disappointing to some degree?

Feel free to voice your thoughts in the section below.

#1 Best: PAC upsets Omega for the win

It would have been way too easy to have Kenny Omega defeat PAC with the One Winged Angel after a grueling match. I loved how bold AEW has been with Omega's booking because the announcers stressed on the fact that Omega's winning record hasn't been the best lately.

But what I especially loved about this match is the fact that PAC defeated Kenny Omega with the Brutalizer, which is a fantastic submission move, which made the 'Best Bout Machine' fade out and pass out. This was the biggest upset of the night and I'm glad that it was booked in such a manner because it got people talking.

I'm sure we're in for a series of matches between the two men. It's going to be a real thrill for fans.

#1 Worst: The length of the show

I remember praising WWE for not making SummerSlam way too long, considering that it is their second biggest show of the year. Even if the wrestling is exemplary, having your audience sit through five hours of content is very trying indeed.

If I did not have to review the show, I am certain that I'd have watched some of it and then gone back to it sometime later, when I had more free time. The show was really good, and I thought that it was unfair of me to tune out midway considering how good the matches were, but I couldn't help it...the show length was brutal.

NXT TakeOvers are just the perfect length, I believe, because neither are they too long, nor too short. They hit the spot and the audience member is left asking for more!

Did you guys also find the show too long?

#2 Best: The exceptionally good ladder match

Every match in the main card was great, and the two matches on the Buy-In were pretty decent as well. However, the most eventful match by far was the one between the Young Bucks and The Lucha Brothers, for the AAA Tag Team Championships where the titles were hung above the four men at a height. As a result, they used ladders not merely to get closer to the titles, but also as weapons.

The biggest headline to come out of the match was that LAX has arrived in AEW. Santana and Ortiz will probably go by a different name in the company, but the sky is the limit for these two men in this stacked tag team division. Considering that they have impeccable chemistry with the Lucha Brothers, they are pretty much guaranteed to put on some impressive matches.

This was the best match out of a whole lot of great matches. If you like well-worked matches, I suggest you watch the show!

#2 Worst: Missing a star, like Moxley, in the match card

WCW became serious competitors for WWE by poaching a lot of their talent, including Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, in addition to Hulk Hogan and Macho Man. The only AEW star who's a worldwide name (except for Chris Jericho) is Jon Moxley, because of his WWE run. In fact, him closing out the show at Double or Nothing pretty much made the event a truly unforgettable affair.

The big surprises at All Out were Arn Anderson and LAX, and no offense to them, they did not have the same kind of impact on the industry that Moxley did. It is truly tragic that he could not make it for the match against Omega (PAC did a commendable job, but he's no Moxley).

It did not help matters that a lot of people expected CM Punk to show up at AEW All Out. Despite all his protestations, any show in Chicago will always induce fans to believe in this. Without him, it just seemed like a glorified independent event.

#3 Best/Worst: Chris Jericho as the AEW World Champion

I suppose there could be a variety of reasons why AEW decided to go with Chris Jericho as the inaugural World Champion instead of someone like Hangman Page. It probably has to do with the fact that he's already a globally recognized worldwide star as opposed to someone like Page who's just getting there. At the same time, AEW had a chance to create a brand new star which they didn't capitalize on.

I suppose that the months and years that follow will illustrate whether this was the right move. But while I liked their decision of going with someone like Nyla Rose over an easy choice like Britt Baker, because it was bold, this seemed like a very safe bet. Especially one to end your big pay-per-view on.

That said, Jericho is the greatest of all time and I don't mind him as the Champion at all. He will bring a unique flavor to AEW on TNT.

Also, who else loved this MJF promo with Jennifer Sterger?
