Clash of Champions 2019: 5 Potential finishes WWE could book for Roman Reigns vs. Rowan

Could we see a big return at Clash of Champions?
Could we see a big return at Clash of Champions?

Now, the basic principle that governs a pay-per-view like Clash of Champions is that every champion has to defend his/her prized title. But then again, there's one non-title match in the card and somehow it's the most intriguing contest from the show.

This is a match that pits Roman Reigns, who's the face of WWE's modern era against a man who's always been hailed as little more than a mid-carder until recently. Whether it was during his stint in the Wyatt Family, The Bludgeon Brothers, or even the alliance with Daniel Bryan, Rowan was always seen as the underdog in every partnership until not long ago.

However, he made clear recently, that he and he alone was responsible for the attacks on Roman Reigns. Yes, he pretty much spelled out that Daniel Bryan was innocent, leading to this big singles clash.

Plus, the contest is a No DQ match, which pretty much means that some kind of surprise interference will happen for sure.

#5 Sheamus returns and reveals himself as Rowan's ally, Rowan wins

It is quite clear for the moment that The Bar is not reuniting. I mean Cesaro is doing his own thing and in many ways, he seems very comfortable as a singles performer. Could Sheamus return at Clash of Champions and be revealed as the man who was actually behind the attacks on Roman Reigns?

WWE has the tendency to book performers that look a certain way in an alliance. Two red-bearded massive individuals like Sheamus and Rowan could certainly form an alliance. Plus the entry of Sheamus only extends this feud for awhile more and because the audience is not sick and tired of it, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

All we saw was that it was a man in a hood, with a beard who orchestrated the vicious attacks. It would have certainly been Sheamus.

#4 Roman Reigns wins clean

Now, in most circumstances, I would say that this would be the usual course of action. I mean Roman Reigns is someone who's always protected, who wins a lot more matches than he loses, and he would pummel anyone to the ground in no time at all, considering that he's the face of the company and Rowan isn't. But in this particular case, this possibility has been ranked so low, for a variety of reasons.

Firstly, if Roman Reigns were to win clean, it would bring this storyline to a conclusion rather prematurely. I mean the discovery that Rowan was behind the attacks and not Daniel Bryan, was an anticlimax in a way, after the many weeks we spent speculating who it could potentially be, right? You want this to be a layered whodunit in a way so that it can elevate the individuals involved, instead of one where the whole program ends with one pay-per-view match.

But then again, Roman Reigns is a top star and you cannot rule out the fact that he could potentially win the match clean, especially if the plan is for him to move on to some other program, like say the Intercontinental Championship picture for example, once Shinsuke Nakamura is done with The Miz.

#3 Daniel Bryan interferes in the match, proves it was a ploy, Rowan wins

When Daniel Bryan found out that his teammate, Erick Rowan was behind the attacks, he would unleash a flurry of slaps on his partner, leading to an attack from Rowan on his 'intellectual equal'. But it was a rather premature end to what seemed like a promising partnership leading me to believe that all is not what it seems at all.

The No DQ clause can certainly lead for a run-in from Daniel Bryan who could attack Roman Reigns, leading Rowan to pick up a victory in this big match. This will be a big step up for Rowan who would be established as a major monster in the current roster.

But more importantly, it leads to a program between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, both of whom are top stars in the roster. When SmackDown goes to FOX, this could be the rivalry that keeps the show coasting at the beginning, leading into Hell in A Cell, Survivor Series and even beyond.

#2 Rowan wins clean

I know that this would be a very rare possibility under most circumstances but if you consider all the facts, you'll see that it's not so at all. The fact that Rowan said that he was not under anyone's control, that he was not anyone's puppet at all, pretty much points to the fact that he will be given a monster push going forward. One wonders if this is the push that was meant for Lars Sullivan until his injury, as the monster of the blue brand.

We know that Roman Reigns is used as an instrument to create new stars. I mean the performance with Buddy Murphy where Reigns and 'The Best Kept Secret' put on a show for the ages pretty much introduced Murphy to the main roster as a force to be reckoned with. Anyone that Roman Reigns works with gets a lot more eyeballs and attention, because like it or not, Reigns is the biggest star in the company.

Would Rowan become, in a sense, the Braun Strowman of SmackDown Live, going forward? In doing so, he could become a huge part of SmackDown on FOX, as a bully, as a psychopath and a top heel.

#1 Bray Wyatt interferes, Rowan is revealed as the first member of a brand new Wyatt Family, Rowan wins

There's no doubt in my mind that another Wyatt Family is coming our way soon and that each of the puppets in the Firefly Fun House represents a character. In fact, when Rowan was revealed as the architect behind the attacks on Roman Reigns, he made a point to mention that he wasn't anyone's puppet, leading me to believe that something big was in the works in the pipeline.

Could The Fiend interfere, not in the main event, but in this match and announce to the world that Rowan was his first disciple in this incarnation? If this were to happen, it could make things very interesting as we head towards Survivor Series 2019.

Once again, Rowan could go back to being a sidekick in this particular role because there's no way that he'd be the leader and Wyatt, the follower. But it'll still be a huge step up for him because Bray Wyatt is the hottest thing in pro wrestling right now and anything he's touched, has turned to gold.

Whom would you like to see as the other members of a brand new Wyatt Family, folks?
