CM Punk is all set to renew his legendary rivalry with John Cena at WWE Night of Champions 2025. Although the encounter was made official on this week's RAW, there is a chance that the challenger may be replaced.
On this week's WWE RAW episode, CM Punk interrupted John Cena and addressed his plans to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship. Surprisingly, the champion accepted the challenge, but clarified that the title match would only take place at the upcoming premium live event, Night of Champions 2025. Considering his prior opinions about Saudi Arabia, there is a slim chance he could back out of the upcoming World Title match.
For those unaware, CM Punk voiced controversial opinions about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the past. He has never competed in the country, and if he did that intentionally, it isn't impossible for him to back out of the upcoming match. In that situation, the company could have Randy Orton have a rematch with his arch-nemesis at the upcoming premium live event.
The Viper lost to Cena at Backlash 2025 after a wild turn of events, and famously hit WWE officials with RKOs in frustration. Considering he didn't lose clean the last time he challenged the Undisputed WWE Champion, he might deserve another shot at the gold.
While Randy Orton replacing The Best in the World could be possible, it must be noted that replacing him against The Greatest of All Time is just speculation for now and nowhere near confirmed.
How could CM Punk vs. John Cena end at WWE Night of Champions 2025?
While a clean match is very well possible, John Cena's title defense at the upcoming premium live event will likely include some shenanigans.
To ensure victory, he could strategically take the referee and land a low blow to defeat CM Punk at WWE Night of Champions 2025. Also, Money in the Bank winner Seth Rollins could try to cash in, and the champion could take advantage of the drama to retain his title, also continuing the never-ending feud between Rollins and Punk.
There is also a chance of Seth Rollins cashing in successfully, thus crowning him the new Undisputed WWE Champion. The crowd should be in for a treat on June 28.
