War Machine and Ricochet are amongst the list of names heading to NXT
War Machine and Ricochet are amongst the list of names heading to NXT

What's the story?

We reported that Ricochet's signing with the WWE was expected to be announced soon, but a new PWInsider report suggests that the company is set to announce the complete list of new NXT intakes as soon as next week.

In case you didn't know...

We've already reported that the WWE have finally signed Candice LeRae after her Mae Young Classic and NXT appearances, and that War Machine and Ricochet was practically a done-deal, but as always with these things, it's not 100% official until the WWE announce it themselves.

The heart of the matter

But, judging from a report from PWInsider it seems that we won't have to wait too long for the WWE to finally end the speculation once and for all and officially announce their next intake of NXT signings, which is set to include the above Superstars.

A number of new WWE NXT hires are slated to be announced this week, including War Machine, Candice LeRae and Richochet.

Some of the other names expected to be officially announced are Rinku Singh, an Indian Baseball player, who rose to fame through a competition to become the first ever Indian MLB player, and Nicholai Salchow, a former MMA fighter with a 6-1 record.

The full list of names expected to be announced is as follows.

What's next?

It's worth noting the above list isn't exhaustive, as there could be one or two surprises in store. With several top Impact Wrestling talent leaving the company recently, such as Rockstar Spud, who is widely regarded to have already signed, or is closed to singing.

There's also James Storm, who has been a free agent since the last set of tapings, and Bobby Lashley and EC3, who seem to have left the company at the most recent set of tapings.

Author's take

I have to say that the list of names looks like a pretty exciting list for the future of wrestling in WWE, not just because it contains big-name talents like Ricochet and War Machine, but because it showcases a level of diversity in professional wrestling's top company that must be applauded.
