The Bloodline's Roman Reigns is embarking on a sabbatical after ending his historic 1,316-day reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania XL. Cody Rhodes finished his story and beat The Tribal Chief in one of the most iconic main events in WWE history.

This has left The Bloodline's future in the air, with Roman Reigns taking a leave of absence. However, fans needn't worry about The Head of the Table not influencing the stable moving forward. WrestleVotes reports that despite Reigns taking time off, he'll still have creative input in the everchanging Bloodline story.

His creativity has been instrumental in the stable's hugely successful reign of terror over the WWE over the past four years.

Roman Reigns appointed Solo Sikoa Tribal Heir several months ago. The former NXT North American Champion recently promoted himself as seemingly the new Tribal Chief.

It will be interesting to see how the story evolves without Reigns being on-screen but helping run things. Fans may have expected the stable's story to have ended at WrestleMania. Yet, it took a new turn with Solo introducing Tama Tonga as a new member and kicking Jimmy Uso out on last week's SmackDown.

Paul Heyman on when Roman Reigns reached boiling point with WWE Creative before creating The Bloodline

Roman Reigns hasn't always been as over with fans as he has been through his leadership of The Bloodline. His early years as a singles superstar on the main roster led to disdain from fans due to the awkward promo work that WWE's creative team handed him.

Several moments made fans wince with second-hand embarrassment. The lowest point was almost certainly the comically bad feud with Baron Corbin, which had former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon's fingerprints all over it.

Reigns' Wiseman Paul Heyman revealed how his Tribal Chief gave up on the role of The Big Dog during that storyline. The WWE Hall of Famer told Tetragrammaton with Rick Rubin:

"The feud-rivalry-story with Baron Corbin over dog food, and the infamous 'suffering succotash' promo, had weighed on him enough to where he said, 'I've had enough. I've reached the cap. I can't go any further as the Big Dog." [H/T WrestlingInc].

Roman Reigns bounced back from this and became one of the greatest champions in WWE history. His and Heyman's creative work earned this success, as they created The Head of the Table persona, which eventually headed The Bloodline.
