Bully Ray made a one-off appearance for WWE earlier this month at WrestleMania XL. He donned the role of guest referee for the Philadelphia Street Fight between The Pride and The Final Testament.
He is a pioneer of the tag team division and one of the few influential superstars of the Stamford-based promotion's Attitude Era when it comes to Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches. Ray also critiques the product regularly nowadays and it seems he has an issue with Piper Niven.
Piper Niven made her WWE return a week ago after nursing a hand injury in February. She joined Chelsea Green once again, resuming her alliance with the latter. The two had become Women's Tag Team Champions last year.
When a fan on X brought up Niven as a "highlight" of the ongoing WWE Live Event Tour overseas, she responded by claiming that that is always the case. Bully Ray reacted to Piper's cocky answer:
"ugh. *barfing emoji*," wrote Ray.
The two had gone at it on X ahead of WrestleMania XL when Bully Ray had taken shots at Chelsea Green about putting the latter's husband Matt Cardona through a burning table. This turned into a banter between Ray and Green's tag team partner, Piper Niven. It even got personal after the Hall of Famer targeted her weight.

The footage of CM Punk's infamous backstage incident at AEW All In 2023 was finally aired on AEW Dynamite a few weeks ago. However, the segment seemingly backfired big time as it was basically a cheap shot by Tony Khan and Co., according to many fans.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray pointed to the "CM Punk!" chants in the arena when the footage was aired. He claimed that if anything, AEW made Punk into a more "sympathetic figure" than anything else:
"It backfired, People in the arena --- I don't care if it was 10 people or 100 people or whatever, people were chanting for CM Punk. I think that they actually make Punk look like a sympathetic figure here because Punk said what he said on Helwani's show, and exactly what he said he did.' Anybody can say whatever they want, there was no reason to air the footage. There was no reason to say the Bucks wanted the footage aired, this guy wanted the footage aired. One person wanted this footage aired."
CM Punk was subsequently fired by All Elite Wrestling following the altercation with Jack Perry prior to his opening contest at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in August last year. He made a miraculous comeback to WWE in November after a decade-long absence filled with hostility towards the Stamford-based promotion.
However, they managed to bury the hatchet with one another, and Punk continues to work for WWE, albeit in a lesser capacity currently owing to a triceps injury.
