Corey Graves reveals inspiration behind in-ring return in WWE

WWE commentator Corey Graves was forced into an early retirement due to injury, but watching the biggest names make legendary comebacks from career-ending injuries inspired him to do the same.

Graves felt that he always missed an opportunity to perform on the big stage and labeled it as a missing piece of the puzzle. He opened up about the entire experience of working his way back into the ring after seeing superstars like Edge, Daniel Bryan, and Christian heal from their career-ending injuries.

During an interview with Rasslin', Graves shared how the lack of in-ring action bothered him and how he has been struggling with the feelings since WrestleMania last year. For this reason, he went through the testing protocol to determine whether he's cleared to compete, and the commentator got the green light. He was quoted as saying:

"That was kind of the one missing piece of the puzzle was, 'Man, I still never got that official WWE match, the [pay-per-view] match.' I got to do the live event tours when I was still with NXT, so I got a taste of it there, and I fell off the cliff before I got to make the jump. It's just something that's kind of been eating at me for the last, particularly, year or so. Seeing Christian come back, and seeing Edge come back, and Daniel Bryan a few years prior. It always has made me wonder, 'What if? Am I able? Would I be able to do that?' So I went and started the whole testing protocol last summer, almost right after WrestleMania last year. I went through and passed all the tests." (h/t Ringside News)

Corey Graves stars in a new WWE reality show alongside real-life fiance Carmella

Corey Graves and Carmella have not kept their real-life relationship a private affair. The two now share the most intimate details of their bond on the new reality show, "Corey and Carmella".

They opened up about the show's content and openly stated that the idea was to make everyone feel comfortable while talking about sex. Corey Graves hopes to succeed where WWE legends 'Edge and Lita previously failed' in terms of normalizing conversations about physical intimacy.

They believe that despite it being an essential part of any relationship, people tend to shy away from open discussions.
