After winning the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble, The American Nightmare traveled to Australia to feature in a special edition of The Grayson Waller Effect at WWE Elimination Chamber Perth. He was also joined by the then World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. Rhodes made a blockbuster entrance at the event with an extensive use of pyro.

On the most recent edition of What do you wanna talk about? With Cody Rhodes, the former Undisputed WWE Champion talked about the use of pyro in his entrance at the show. The 39-year-old claimed that although he was proud of it and would love to continue having pyro in his entrances, he had never seen such a waste of money in his life. Rhodes added that it felt like the wrestling promotion was trying to make up for him and The Visionary not wrestling at the event with the incredible fireworks.

"And I was so proud that I got to be part of it, and I don't want it to go away. And please, Hunter, don't take it away. I have never seen such a waste of money my entire life. It kept going, and I remember Seth was looking like, 'What the what?' That we weren't doing anything, it wasn't a match. It was just a talk segment. So I felt the idea was, let's give them that full entrance experience. But it was amazing, as I have fond memories of Perth just for having to stand there in the ring knowing they're getting this great Elimination Chamber. They're getting this great PLE that evening, and I got to do this and have all the fireworks go off. Perth is amazing," he said. [From 16:00 onwards]

Cody Rhodes pins Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena in his return match

Cody Rhodes stepped away from WWE programming for a few weeks after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41.

However, the SmackDown star made his return last month at Saturday Night's Main Event to attack The Cenation Leader, who was trying to help Logan Paul defeat Jey Uso for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. After helping The YEET Master retain his title, Cody Rhodes challenged John Cena and Logan Paul to a tag team match against him and Jey Uso at WWE Money in the Bank.

The two teams put forth an incredible contest in the main event of the PLE. Toward the end, John Cena seemed likely to get another one over Rhodes after hitting him with the title. However, R-Truth showed up and took out the 17-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, allowing Rhodes to nail Cena with a Cross Rhodes and secure a pinfall win.
