R-Truth's return at Money in the Bank 2025 shocked everyone since it seemed to come off the backlash that WWE received from fans and internally within the locker room. It appeared to be a valuable learning lesson for their parent company, TKO, which seemingly only looked at spreadsheets and numbers when making the decision not to renew Ron Killings/R-Truth's contract.

When talking about R-Truth, John Cena said that Truth is a lie and that fans wasted their energy on what he deemed to be a "side show comedian", whose biggest achievement is imitating him. He said that Truth will be spat out in a year from now:

It was ultimately what R-Truth represented to fans and the locker room. While TKO may have only looked at his high salary (which was relative to his 17-year veteran status), it seemed to be a move that destabilized the locker room.

It was reported that WWE President Nick Khan also had to get directly involved and called Truth to sort the situation out himself. This was supposedly the only way to get to Ron Killings as he seemingly ignored other points of contact.
