NXT UK Results - NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament begins; WALTER and Pete Dunne confrontation (1st October 2020)

Andy Shepherd and Nigel McGuinness welcomed fans to the latest edition of NXT UK, which included the first round of the NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament at BT Sport Studios in London, England.


#1. Kenny Williams vs. Ashton Smith vs. Amir Jordan (Triple Threat NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament Wildcard qualifying match)

Amir Jordan's appearance in this match surprised his tag team partner Kenny Williams before the match began.

Both tag team partners removed Ashton Smith from the ring before they faced off one-on-one in the middle of the ring, exchanging near falls in the process. However, Ashton Smith wasn't out of the ring for long. Smith levelled both of his opponents with a stiff double clothesline.

Kenny Williams attempted a roll up on Amir Jordan for a two count. Afterwards, Jordan asked his tag team partner why he attempted to pin him, they are tag team partners after all!

Kenny Williams attempted to dive onto Ashton Smith but was caught in mid-air by Smith. However, Amir Jordan hit a suicide dive onto both competitors which sent them both to the floor.

Kenny Williams hit a springboard reverse elbow onto Ashton Smith who was set up in a powerbomb position by Amir Jordan.

Ashton Smith fought back against his two opponents, who utilised their tag team maneuverers against him. Ashton Smith hit a blue thunder bomb on Kenny Williams for a close two count.

Amir Jordan hit a roll through flatliner on Ashton Smith for a close two count of his own. Then, Kenny Williams went for a springboard crossbody onto Ashton Smith but was caught in mid-air. But, Williams transitioned into a hurricanrana for another close two count.

Ashton Smith decided enough was enough and used his raw power to hit Kenny Williams with a version of a death valley driver. But, the pin fall attempt was broken up by Amir Jordan who hit a Swanton Bomb onto Smith for another two count.

Ashton Smith superkicked Amir Jordan out of the ring but then turned into a beautiful tornado DDT by Kenny Williams, who then rolled up Smith to gain the victory and qualify for the NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament.

Result: Kenny Williams def. Ashton Smith and Amir Jordan

Post-match: We saw a vignette with "The Teacher" Eddie Dennis. Dennis spoke about adapting to the constantly evolving NXT UK. Dennis said that his mind is a machine, but like a hadron collider, you just can't understand it.

We then revisited earlier this year when Mark Andrews was mysteriously attacked backstage. We are still yet to discover the mystery attacker of Andrews.

Earlier Today: Flash Morgan Webster spoke about his excitement of participating in the NXT UK Heritage Cup.


#2. Xia Brookside vs. Jinny

Jinny talked smack to Xia Brookside before both competitors locked up in this match on NXT UK. Jinny also reminded Brookside that she has already beaten her twice in their previous matches.

Brookside floored Jinny early on with a nice dropkick. But, Jinny quickly regained control and talked more smack in the process. Jinny grated Xia Brookside's face across the top rope. But, Brookside responded with a nice hurricanrana.

Brookside attempted two monkey flips, but she didn't fully catch all of either attempt. Xia then locked in an Indian death lock onto her opponent, but Jinny was able to fight out.

Xia Brookside argued with the referee, which allowed Jinny to hit a vicious forearm shot for a two count.

Brookside took down Jinny with a beautiful head-scissors followed by knees to the back of her opponent against the turnbuckles. Jinny grabbed a handful of hair and whiplashed Xia's head over the top rope. Jinny then locked in a version of an STF for the submission victory over Xia Brookside on NXT UK.

Result: Jinny def. Xia Brookside via submission

Post-match: Jinny said she has been playing nice for far too long in NXT UK. She reminded the NXT UK Universe that they haven't seen the best of her yet. Jinny tells the audience to bow down as The Queen of NXT UK makes history.

A vignette aired for A-Kid ahead of his NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament first round match against Flash Morgan Webster next week on NXT UK.

Next week the NXT UK Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray will give her Champion 'State of The Union address."

We were then reminded of the NXT UK Heritage Cup tournament rules ahead of tonight's first round match which is contested under a British Rounds format.


#2. Main Event: Noam Dar vs. Alexander Wolfe /w/ Special Guest Referee: Pete Dunne (NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament first round match)

Round 1

Noam Dar and Alexander Wolfe began the match with some chain wrestling as both NXT UK Superstars attempted to gain leverage.

Alexander Wolfe utilised a key lock on Noam Dar on several occasions but the Scottish Supernova quickly escaped the hold each time.

Wolfe backed Dar into the corner as the opening 3-minute round came to close with both NXT UK Superstars seemingly feeling each other out.

Both Superstars then utilised the 20 second break between rounds before starting Round 2.

Round 2

Alexander Wolfe attempted a go-behind but Noam Dar utilised foot stomps to escape the hold once more.

The German NXT UK Superstar then attempted to force Dar's shoulders to the mat, which generated a two count on both occasions.

Noam Dar utilised a move out of the arsenal of NXT UK General Manager Johnny Saint, the North Sea Backslide for a close two count. Dar then rolled through into a school boy and landed the first fall of the match.

Round 3

Alexander Wolfe was clearly frustrated as he wrestled Noam Dar to the canvas with a body scissors. Wolfe then pulled the hair of Noam Dar, which led to Pete Dunne breaking up the submission attempt.

Wolfe rolled up Noam Dar for a two count. Alexander Wolfe then locked in a front face lock and a grovit submission on Noam Dar.

Noam Dar landed a stiff kick on Alexander Wolfe as the match quickly descended into a brawl between both NXT UK Superstars.

The bell sounded for the end of the third round but Alexander Wolfe landed a cheap shot punch on Noam Dar after the bell had ring which led to special guest referee Pete Dunne shoving the Imperium member.

Round 4

Round 4 began with Noam Dar still rocked by the punch from Alexander Wolfe. However, Dar quickly got to his feet and hit Wolfe with another stiff kick. The Scottish Supernova hit a pump kick and a stiff lariat to the back of Wolfe's head for a close two count.

Dar attempted a running knee but missed. Wolfe then struck Dar with a pump kick, followed by a German Suplex for a pin-fall which tied up the score at one round-a-piece.

Round 5

Alexander Wolfe looked for a hot start and landed a version of a jackhammer for a very close two count. The momentum had seemingly turned in the favour of Alexander Wolfe.

Wolfe attempted another German Suplex but Dar fought out with stiff kicks to the chest of his opponent.

Noam Dar locked in an arm-bar but Wolfe escaped into a triangle clutch submission. Dar rolled through into a pin-fall attempt which only got a two count.

Noam Dar hit a stiff reverse elbow for a close two count. Dar once again attempted to lock in an arm-bar submission. But, Wolfe hit a brutal lariat and transitioned into a knee bar which Dar was able to escape.

Noam Dar attempted a pin-fall on Alexander Wolfe but was caught holding the ropes for leverage. Special Guest Referee Pete Dunne admonished Dar and kicked The Scottish Supernova's hands off the ropes, releasing Dar's grip.

Noam Dar attempted to hit Pete Dunne with the Nova Roller as he checked on Alexander Wolfe. But, Pete Dunne ducked, allowing Dar to strike Wolfe and pick up the pin-fall to advance to the second round of the NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament.

Result: Noam Dar def. Alexander Wolfe (2-1 in Round 5)


Post-match: Alexander Wolfe complained to Pete Dunne after being eliminated from the NXT UK Heritage Cup Tournament.

The German Superstar attempted to attack The Brusierweight. But, Pete Dunne fought back against Alexander Wolfe.

NXT UK Champion WALTER then entered the arena at BT Sport Studios and confronted Pete Dunne, which allowed Alexander Wolfe to attack The Bruiserweight from behind.

Then, WALTER set up Pete Dunne for a powerbomb but Ilja Dragonov made the save and helped Pete Dunne fight off both members of Imperium. All four Superstars then stared off to close this week's edition of NXT.
