A WWE RAW superstar recently teased that a stalker storyline from the past may not be over.
Candice LeRae returned to the company after taking some time away during her pregnancy. She joined the roster on the RAW brand but hasn't found much success so far. Former RAW Women's Champion Nikki Cross was following The Poison Pixie around for quite some time.
It appeared that the storyline would lead to something for both superstars. Instead, it just faded away, and LeRae and Cross have barely been featured on the red brand.
However, Nikki Cross seemingly still has Candice on her mind and took to Twitter today to send an ominous message to LeRae. Nikki posted a screenshot of her staring at Candice from behind during the latest edition of the red brand, hinting that their storyline was far from over.
Vince Russo claims WWE has "nothing" for the storyline between Candice LeRae and Nikki Cross on RAW
Former WWE writer Vince Russo does not like the angle between Candice LeRae and Nikki Cross.
The storyline initially created some buzz but quickly disappeared once it became apparent that it wasn't going anywhere. Wrestling veteran Vince Russo claimed on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show earlier this year in February that the company was dragging the storyline out because they had no idea what to do with it:
"Do you guys see how this is playing out because they have absolutely nothing? Look how long this is playing out. Three weeks Nikki Cross was where LeRae was. She confronts her next week, then the fourth week, she's whispering, so we still don't know what it is." Russo added, "Here's the problem, man. They stretch it out so long, and then it turns out to be nothing. That's the problem, it's nothing." [1:08:20 - 1:09:00]
While Vince Russo appears to be correct so far, it seems like the storyline is starting back up again on the red brand. Only time will tell if WWE will be able to provide fans with a storyline that captures their attention this time around.
