Matt Hardy featured in several high-profile storylines during his WWE career. On the latest episode of his podcast, the 50-year-old played down suggestions that Jey Uso has been "buried" following a recent storyline development.
Uso lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther in a WrestleMania 41 rematch on the June 9 episode of RAW. In a dramatic finish, The Ring General regained the gold after making his opponent pass out.
On The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the veteran dismissed talk that the creative decision hurt Uso:
"No. He's not buried. He's not buried at all. If you've been awarded the world title, you are definitely not buried." [24:21 – 24:28]

Uso's World Heavyweight Championship reign lasted 51 days. His only successful title defences came against Logan Paul and Seth Rollins. However, the latter match ended in a disqualification victory for Rollins after CM Punk attacked him.
Matt Hardy on Jey Uso's WWE storyline direction
Moving forward, it is unclear whether Jey Uso will remain in the World Heavyweight Championship picture on RAW.
Matt Hardy believes Uso's stock has risen significantly during his storyline with Gunther. He also speculated whether the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble winner could target tag team gold with his brother Jimmy.
"The fact that he had that run and he lost it back to Gunther, even in that fashion, I like all that," Hardy said. "I'm fine with all that, and it's gonna be interesting to see what's next with Jey. Do The Usos come back and have a dominant tag team run? It's just nice that he was able to dip his toe, dip his feet into the waters of a main-event player. I think he earned that, and I'm glad he got the opportunity to do it." [23:57 – 24:20]
The Usos are eight-time WWE Tag Team Champions. Jey also held the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Cody Rhodes.
