What does WWE has in store for their Unified Champion?

WWE has billed the third WrestleMania encounter between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar as the Greatest WrestleMania Match Ever. While fans thought the two superstars would battle in a 'Champion vs. Champion Winner-Takes-All' match, the company has added another major stipulation.

Both the top titles of Vince McMahon's promotion, namely the WWE Championship and Universal Championship, will be unified following The Show of Shows. That means WWE will only have one world title moving forward for an indefinite period.

Among the many questions fans have about this situation, there is curiosity over what the new unified title will look like. There are a wide variety of possible title designs from the past that the promotion may bring back to represent their unified championship.

On our list, we will discuss five possible designs for the unified World Championship.

Which of the following looks do you think will be a better fit for the championship gold? You are welcome to voice your opinions in the comments section below.

#5 In our list of possible belt designs for the unified WWE Championship - The Big Eagle belt

The Big Eagle design was the successor to The Winged Eagle belt. Steve Austin was the first superstar to hold the Big Eagle and the title has since then changed hands between some all-time greats such as The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H, Mankind and Austin himself.

Speaking of its design, the belt is visually stunning and looks better than almost all the existing championship gold in Vince McMahon's promotion. It is also remembered as The Attitude Era belt because of its significance during the acclaimed period.

While WWE may not go back to its blood and gut eras anytime soon, it may bring back memories of its prime Attitude Era by reintroducing the Big Eagle Belt as the Unified WWE Championship.

#4. Fans want The Big Gold Belt

The Big Gold Belt is one of the most beloved championship designs in the history of pro-wrestling. Not only does its legacy span decades, but it has also changed hands within numerous wrestling promotions before McMahon's promotion finally brought it as the World Heavyweight Championship in 2002.

Since then, the title has been widely praised for the way it looked. However, the belt was merged with the WWE Championship in 2013.

Fans have still longed for its return and this may be the perfect time to do so. It will look great on the shoulders of a unified champion.

#3. The design of WWE or Universal Championship may continue

Either of the two titles may persist.
Either of the two titles may persist.

This may be the most possible option Vince McMahon's promotion may choose. Randy Orton, then-WWE Champion, defeated John Cena, then-World Heavyweight Champion, in 2013.

Consequently, the design for Orton's belt continued. There's a considerable possibility that the same pattern may continue this time as well. That means the winner between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar may opt to continue with the belt design of his current title and may retire the counterpart.

#2. The Undisputed Champion deserves the Undisputed Championship

Once the title is unified, there will only be a single world champion. He will be undisputed, and so, what could be better than a belt that is precisely called the Undisputed Championship?

Chris Jericho defeated The Rock and then Stone Cold Steve Austin in a single night in 2001 to unify the WWF and WCW Championships. A single belt was made to signify the two titles and was called the WWE Undisputed Heavyweight Championship.

The promotion can do the same again and there would be no complaints if the belt design is the same as well.

#1. Something never seen before

If Vince McMahon's company wants to usher in a new era, it must start afresh. The current title design of the WWE Championship has been around for almost a decade now and may benefit from a modification.

Meanwhile, the Universal Title belt was never taken seriously by fans, and it should have been redesigned years ago. It is logical for them to introduce a brand new title design after unifying the title.

It can take inspiration from the current NXT United Kingdom Championship because it looks gorgeous. Nonetheless, let's wait and see what Vince McMahon's company has in store for their Unified Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.
