Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro defeated The New Day at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura shocked the WWE Universe when they defeated The New Day in a tables match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules to capture the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.

While Cesaro and Nakamura had defeated Kofi Kingston and Big E on Smackdown in the weeks prior, many had expected The New Day to retain the gold.

However, Cesaro would powerbomb Kofi Kingston through two tables stacked on top of each other to win the match and silence the doubters. Cesaro has been very vocal on Friday Night Smackdown in recent weeks, suggesting that he and Shinsuke Nakamura have been overlooked and under-appreciated in the WWE for a long time.

While their Smackdown Tag Team Championship reign is currently in it's infancy, the duo have been teaming together for some time. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura were brought together by former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn as a part of the "Artist Collective" stable on Smackdown.

The trio's mission statement was to allow true, under-appreciated "artists" to reach their full potential in WWE.

Whilst Sami Zayn is not on WWE Television at present due to his concerns over safety during the current pandemic, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura have continued to team up in his absence.

Now that Cesaro and Nakamura have won Tag Team gold on Smackdown, what could the trio achieve once Sami Zayn makes his grand return to WWE in the future?
