Royal Rumble 2015 Predictions

Randy Orton after winning the Royal Rumble in 2009

This Sunday, January 25th the WWE event “Royal Rumble” will take place live on the WWE Network, and Pay-Per-View. The event will be headlined by two matches, the “Royal Rumble” match itself, and a “Triple Threat” match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena and Seth Rollins. John Cena earned the right to face Brock Lesnar at the WWE Pay-Per-View “TLC and Stairs” this past December when he defeated Seth Rollins in a “Tables Match.” The stipulation of the match was that if John Cena were to lose he would no longer be the number one contender for the WWE Championship. Cena not only defeated Rollins, but with the help of Roman Reigns he overcame the Big Show and J&J Security as well.

After the match it seemed as if John Cena was going to close the Seth Rollins chapter in his career, but that was far from true. At “Survivor Series” in November John Cena’s team beat team “Authority” in a traditional “Survivor Series” match. John Cena’s team came out victorious, which meant that Stephanie McMahon and HHH were no longer in power. Vince McMahon made it so that if Cena’s team won, John Cena would be the only person that could give Stephanie and HHH there power back. So at the last “Monday Night Raw” of 2014 Seth Rollins concocted a plan which would put them back in power.

Seth Rollins would give John Cena an ultimatum, he could either give “The Authority” there power back, or he could let WWE Hall of Famer Edge get “Curb Stomped.” John Cena chose to save Edge, putting Stephanie McMahon and HHH back in power. As a reward for Rollins, the next week on Raw HHH put Seth Rollins in the match with Brock Lesnar and John Cena.

The “Triple Threat” match at the “Royal Rumble” could end up begin a moot point, because Seth Rollins still has the “Money in the Bank” contract. Seth Rollins could just sit back and watch John Cena and Brock Lesnar tear each other apart, and then when the smoke clears make his move. So even if John Cena or Brock Lesnar wins this match, Seth Rollins at the end of the night could walk out of the “Royal Rumble” WWE Heavyweight Champion.

Prediction: Rollins walks out of the “Royal Rumble” WWE World Heavyweight Champion

The very last match of the night will be the “Royal Rumble” match. This match is one of the most important matches in WWE for the Superstars themselves, because it could change their careers. The winner of the 30 man “Royal Rumble” match will earn his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 31, and get a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It’s always hard to guess who will win this match, because the match is so unpredictable, but here are some things that could happen. Randy Orton has been out of action ever since Seth Rollins and “The Authority” put him out of action last November, so seeing Randy Orton make his return at the Rumble would be a welcome surprise.

Going into the match young wrestlers like Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Bray Wyatt have a chance to pull away from the pack and make their mark on WWE. Or for a wrestler like Daniel Bryan the "Royal Rumble" is a chance, a chance to help him regain something he never lost.

The "Royal Rumble" is the beginning of the road to the WrestleMania and after the Rumble match one man will have his ticket to the main event.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins the Royal Rumble
