Backstage news on Heath Slater's future

Heath Slater's return on WWE Monday Night RAW surprised all but the real question was his future with the company. Many fans still want him to re-sign with the company, but that does not seem to be the case right now.

According to Tom Colohue on Dropkick DiSKussions, the Slater appearance was just a one-off and he is not going to sign with the company again.

It was a one-time deal. It gives Heath Slater himself a payday while he's unable to wrestle elsewhere because of his non-compete clause. Now, Heath is someone who is open in saying that it was his own fault that he was released due to a lack of effort and motivation.
I still remember back in his original free agent run when he didn't get drafted to either brand, and we saw him in matches with Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar, trying to win a contract. That I felt was incredible work which really wasn't followed up on as well as they could have in my opinion.
Clearly, he's taken it seriously this time because he looks incredible. He hasn't been offered a new contract, to my knowledge, but I know a lot of people backstage who are very impressed as well the wrestlers as well. With a performance like this, it's not impossible that a new contract will be offered, that said, I'm pretty sure he already has a deal offered by another company.

Real reason why Brock Lesnar is not on WWE TV

Brock Lesnar was reportedly scheduled to come back to WWE TV at SummerSlam, but that does not seem to be the case anymore. WWE is not willing to use him without a crowd in the arena, and thus, not interested in bringing him back until the situation is normal again.

Korey Gunz and Tom Colohue, while talking on on Dropkick DiSKussions, said:

Gunz: You mentioned Brock Lesnar being booked for the event. Now that it's booked at the Performance Center and not at the arena with a paying crowd, could that have an effect where they decide to not bring Brock in and use that as one of his dates if it's not going to have the biggest impact possible?

Colohue: It's possible, I won't say for definite that Brock Lesnar will be there because, at this point, I don't know. They could very well cancel that appearance and save his date for this year until next year and have a lot of Brock Lensar next year. I don't think anyone would have an issue with that.

AJ Styles on rumors of leaving RAW for SmackDown

AJ Styles has blasted Paul Heyman and called him a bold-faced liar. The WWE Superstar was live on his Mixer channel when he was talking about the rumor behind his move from RAW to SmackDown and the real reason why actually made the switch. The Phenomenal One said:

There were some rumors going around that AJ Styles left RAW to go to SmackDown because he was being bullied. That may be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I mean, I'm a grown man. If there's some bullying going on that upset me enough to leave RAW and go to SmackDown, I'll handle it.
When it came to the rumor of Paul Heyman and me being upset with him because he didn't take up for Gallows and Anderson before they got released, that's not what it was at all. Not even close. I'll give you a snippet, what me, Gallows, and Anderson already know. He's a liar. Now you know, I'm sure you have heard that going back to his ECW days, you'll hear that. He's a bold-faced liar.

Tessa Blanchard to debut soon?

Former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard is currently a free agent and reports suggest that she is heading to WWE. According to certain reports, she was released by IMPACT while some suggest her contract was up and she left the company.

WrestlingNews.co report that WWE are on the verge of snapping her up and she could make her debut soon. Rumours of Evolution 2 are going around and that could be the PPV she debuts on as per reports.

WrestlingNews.co reached out to a couple of sources to inquire about Blanchard and the sources we spoke with have not heard anything. One source said that her signing would likely be kept quiet to avoid spoiling the surprise, so we’ll see.

Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue added to the same:

"There definitely is, I've mentioned this already. She's a big name now, and there are a number of people in the WWE who have been singing Tessa's praises for a while. I don't know for sure whether they'd take the punt, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm not going to name any names of who in the company has been essentially chewing Vince's ear off as to, 'you should hire Tessa Blanchard', but he finds it very difficult to get away from it, I'll tell you that."

Why Seth Rollins injured Rey Mysterio's eye

WWE played a trick by getting Seth Rollins to injure Rey Mysterio's eye, according to Dave Meltzer. He reports that the company knew that the Biggest Little Man was going to be out of contract soon and didn't want him to appear on another promotion. Hence, they made it sound like he was actually injured and it was a way to write him off if he did not resign.

The whole original storyline talking about an infection which was then dropped, and potentially losing his sight in the eye was a way to write him out, and I guess make it appear to WWE fans that if he shows up elsewhere that he’s medically unfit and the other company is sleazy for putting a guy with a medical condition out there.
If it was just Mysterio, at this point he would just probably go to who paid him the best, which would probably come down to either WWE, AEW or a Moxley/Jericho like deal of AEW and New Japan which he is a big enough star to get if that’s what he wanted.
