Sheamus is just one step away from becoming a WWE Grand Slam Champion and joining the likes of Triple H, Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns among others. The three-time WWE Champion has won nearly every other title in the company, apart from the Intercontinental Championship.
At Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30, Sheamus will battle Bron Breakker and Ludwig Kaiser in a Triple-Threat match for the Intercontinental Title. And fans could see Sheamus' real-life best friend return and help him win the title. The superstar in question is none other than Drew McIntyre.
The Scottish Warrior might return finally at the Survivor Series after a gap of nearly two months as a babyface and help his friend Sheamus by looking out for his buddy. Drew has been absent from WWE since the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, where he had a brutal clash with CM Punk inside the Hell in a Cell.
While McIntyre hasn't been teased for the event, he might be the surprise of the night. McIntyre and Sheamus have been real-life best friends and McIntyre has in the past even referred to him as his elder brother.
The two have known each other before they made their WWE debuts, and have had a strong bond for over a decade. McIntyre had once helped Sheamus and The Brawling Brutes in a WarGames bout against The Bloodline. So, it won't be a surprise if he turns up for his friend at the Survivor Series: WarGames PLE.
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre's friendship goes beyond WWE
The Celtic Warrior once addressed his brotherly bond with McIntyre and explained how their union goes back to even before 2007. He stated that they got together because of their shared passion for wrestling.
"Over 20 years, maybe. We met when I was wrestling for Irish Whip Wrestling back in Dublin. Drew came over, it was a talent exchange with BCW, local independent shows where we all started, all cut our teeth, you know what I mean, on home soil. We hit it off right away, had a match that night, hit it off right away and he came and stayed at my house. We went out, drank a lot of Guinness and the rest, they say is history," Sheamus said on an episode of RAW talk.
Sheamus also mentioned that Drew's whole family, including his father, was very close to him. On the other hand, The Scottish Warrior also resonates the same bond with The Celtic Warrior.
He calls him his elder brother who has been there with him in the good and bad times. While speaking on the Busted Open Radio once, McIntyre said that he wouldn't have come this far in the Stamford-based promotion had Sheamus not been there with him.
It remains to be seen if Drew McIntyre will turn up for his best friend at Survivor Series: WarGames.
