Survivor Series - 5 Mistakes WWE shouldn't make at any cost at the show

Avoiding these mistakes will ensure that Survivor Series is memorable
Avoiding these mistakes will ensure that Survivor Series is memorable

Ask anyone if they're excited about Survivor Series 2021, one of the most highly-anticipated pay-per-views of the year once upon a time, and chances are they'll say no. What was once hailed as one of the 'big four' pay-per-views has devolved into just another show.

By avoiding the mistakes that we mention in this article, Survivor Series 2021 can still be quite the show to remember. Be sure to add to the list in the comments below. What are some of the mistakes that you think WWE should avoid?

#5 Not having The Rock show up at Survivor Series after the Tonight Show hype

Literally every wrestling fan saw Roman Reigns' appearance on the Tonight Show to promote Survivor Series. And yes, the subject of his fellow Samoan was brought up during the conversation. This is what Reigns said about The Rock potentially appearing at the pay-per-view.

"These are rumors, you're saying? I have not heard these rumors, and I would think I'm closer than anybody at this point. So, I don't know; it's not what I've heard. I also debuted at Survivor Series as well, so there is a nice little tie-in there. But, I don't know," said Roman Reigns.

After all of the hype, all of the hoopla, for The Rock to not show up and be a part of the festivities would be a massive dampener for the fans. The Brahma Bull could take Survivor Series from a pay-per-view without hype and make it a show for the ages. The eventual Rock vs. Reigns match could, of course, happen at WrestleMania.

Just a face-off between the two titans of the industry would shake the foundation of the said industry. Imagine the goosebumps that every fan watching would feel.

#4 Not having any infighting among the Survivor Series teams

On paper, all Survivor Series teams should be working together to ensure brand supremacy. That said, when you have Drew McIntyre and Sheamus on the same team, as well as Shotzi and Sasha Banks, there has to be some degree of infighting.

To portray every Survivor Series team as being on the same page would not be wise at all. The implosions are what would make the event memorable.

#3 Booking Big E to defeat Roman Reigns

Even though the WWE Champion and the Universal Champion are supposed to be at par, it is clear who the superior champion is from the company's perspective.

At Survivor Series, whether it's clean or by trickery, Big E should come up short against Roman Reigns.

Whoever eventually pins Reigns will get a massive pop. After all, he's sent legends like Brock Lesnar and John Cena packing into the sunset.

Even if it's in a non-title environment, The Tribal Chief should emerge as the clear victor in this contest.

#2 Having Drew McIntyre get eliminated way too early from his Survivor Series team

If there's a sole survivor from Survivor Series 2021, at least on the men's side, it needs to be Drew McIntyre. Whatever the plan may be, he needs to come out of the pay-per-view smelling like roses and then some.

Remember that he's pretty much the only opponent for Roman Reigns from the SmackDown roster right now. For him to be eliminated early will severely impact his value.

#1 Booking Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Damian Priest

No match on the Survivor Series card has had a worse build than Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Damian Priest. Therefore it is almost mandatory that Priest picks up a win during this match.

He has been one of the most protected superstars on the roster, and it's a rare sight indeed to see him lose. Even if he comes up short against The King of Strong Style it will severely damage his momentum and have him slip a rank or two. Priest should emerge victorious at the upcoming event and move on to bigger things.
