10 of the most unusual WWE Superstar habits

Poster boy for the  misunderstood

It’s a common fact of life that everyone has some sort of habit. People have good habits, they have bad habits. Then they have the unusual habits that leave you perplexed. It’s not bad, it’s not good either; it’s just weird. It is no different with WWE Superstars that we all admire.

Most habits come from pre-match rituals, but there are some habits that Superstars are happy to share with the WWE Universe. From rituals or just the way one does things, here are some interesting tidbits.

10. Triple H and Stephanie’s midnight workout

While this might not seem as bad, most people prefer to work out either early in the morning or in the evening after work. In the WWE world, the Superstars try to fit in a good workout whenever they can.

In the case of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, they answered TMZ when asked about when they found the time to work out. Triple H explains that it is the only time they can find the squeeze in a workout after a long day at the office. Whatever works for them.

9. Mick Foley likes Tori Amos?

Looking at Mick Foley, it would certainly surprise you that he listens to the alternative crooner. In fact, Foley stated that before his most brutal matches, he has one particular song he listens to, and it is “Winter” by Tori Amos.

He explains that it is the most beautiful song ever recorded, and it helps him visualize his bloody battles. Maybe it’s the haunting undertones of the song, or her soft but soprano voice that aids Foley. Who would’ve thought a love song inspired some of his most hardcore bouts? Mindblown.

8. Scissor therapy

That’s not PG!

WWE has their hands full with seamstresses backstage always tending to the Superstars’ ring attire. But, they also have one of their own who is quite talented with cutting up tee shirts. That person is AJ Lee. She did most of her shirts, if not all of them, on her own for wear out to the ring.

AJ had also constructed the tears in Dolph Ziggler’s shirts, which she was paired with at the time. She stated in a WWE column that sometimes the seamstresses help her then take the scissors away, or she’s allowed to use the baby scissors. She also said that when she cuts tee shirts, she has an inner rage going on, and it’s rather therapeutic.

7. Daniel Bryan and the vegan diet

Many people are on the vegan craze, and it is a way of life for others. For Daniel Bryan, his decision to go vegan was influenced by health reasons. Bryan changed over to the vegan lifestyle after having trouble overcoming staph infections.

He told Sports Illustrated that his immune system was weak, so dropping meat helps his body fight off bacteria versus if he continued to eat meat. Having fun with the change, Bryan used being vegan to his advantage as a heel, always touting messages such as “meat is murder”.

6. Cold blooded collector

In William Regal’s 2005 book “Walking a Golden Mile”, he writes of his love for reptiles. At that time, he had two snakes, 8 lizards, and a tortoise. Fans got a close look at his passion for the cold-blooded animals on WWE Insiders, where they saw Regal shopping around for a cold blooded pet.

In the video, he speaks of how amazing the reptiles are as he looks around and introduces each creature to the audience. He’s been quoted as saying reptiles are the greatest thing in the world. If you say so.

One of the more known unusual habits is held by John Cena. Cena isn’t shy about letting you know about his Tic Tac ritual.

Depending on the stress of the match, Cena consumes two to five boxes of Tic Tacs when he is at a show. He recently went in detail about his Tic Tac addition on the Ellen Degeneres show. He starts consuming them about two hours before the show, but is quick to point out that has control of his obsession.

When asked in an interview with The Shreveport Times a few months ago about his pre-match ritual, R-Truth said that music helps him get his mind right. That, stretching and driving around in a vehicle is a must, and he has done it for seventeen years. For many people, driving helps them focus and clear the mind, so it would make sense in R-Truth’s case, too.

3. Push it good, Cesaro

Cesaro has a rather incredible physique, and he didn’t get it by sitting around before shows. On a WWE.com column, he tells them that before matches he’s all about pushups. Pushups with weight, Hindu pushups, handstand pushups, Cesaro is all about variety. He insists that pushups make your body stronger and more functional. It assists his nature of competing in the squared circle.

The Rock is well known for a big, healthy appetite. He is a Samoan after all, they love to eat!

While it’s normal for The Great One to post pictures of his meals on Instagram, what’s not normal is the amount of consumption he does. Twelve pancakes? Four double dough pizzas? That’s his version of a cheat meal. Just like his personality, his cheat meals are over the top. And here I am, guilty about an Oreo milkshake.

1. Cookie fragrance

Everyone knows that the Ultimate Warrior was a little weird with the things he says and what he does. Perhaps one of the strangest stories about the late legend comes from Bret Hart, who witnessed this incident.

While preparing for his match, Warrior came in and decided to get something to eat. He grabbed a cookie, crushed it with his hands, and smelled them for some time before throwing the crumbled pieces away. When Hart asked him about it, Warrior simply responded that he got the same feeling smelling the cookie as if he were to eat one. Well, if that isn’t unusual!
