The biggest winners and losers of last night's SmackDown (November 29)

Welcome back
Welcome back

It was the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday in the United States, and SmackDown's last show of the month. With the Survivor Series angle now over, the blue brand is gearing up for WrestleMania season, which is just around the corner. But how did it do?

It was a night of returns and also a night of transformations. Things happened on this show, which in WWE, is always worthy of praise. There are unfortunately way too many shows in this company that feel like they're completely meaningless. What happened on last night's show and who got the most or least out of it? Let's take a look.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns didn't do anything special last night, but he was one of SmackDown's few standouts at Survivor Series, winning the men's elimination match for the Blue Brand. Last night, he crushed Bobby Roode, who was used as a pawn for the King Baron Corbin.

This was nothing on its own, but it looks like a good warmup for Roman Reigns en route to the Royal Rumble and ultimately, WrestleMania. He should be considered the favorite to take on The Fiend Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship there.

Expect him to remain in good form as he cruises to TLC where he'll undoubtedly lay Corbin to waste.

Winner: Sheamus

An unexpected face made his return last night. Sheamus appeared and vowed to be a force on the Blue Brand. It was the first time we've seen him since WrestleMania in April.

It also sounds like he's going to be a singles competitor again, rather than reunite The Bar with Cesaro.

Either way, it's nice to see him back. We'll simply have to find out where he ultimately lands on the blue brand and what his WrestleMania plans might be.

Loser: Bayley

After having taken the fall in the atrocious Survivor Series main event, Bayley, with Sasha Banks by her side, started berating the SmackDown women's division for poor performance. Lacey Evans took objection to this and hit Sasha Banks with the Woman's Right.

This probably means that a title match is in the works between Lacey Evans and Bayley. We've seen Lacey Evans title matches before, and with Bayley already feeling stale as champion, it certainly isn't going to help matters.

Everyone's just waiting for Sasha and Bayley to turn on each other, but it's gonna feel like a long wait yet.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Sheamus wasn't the only one that made his return last night. Alexa Bliss showed up unexpectedly and helped Nikki Cross against Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. The tag team is apparently back in action. It's understandable why WWE would want to take some precautions with the suddenly injury-prone Alexa Bliss.

The tag team division could also use the team, so it's a win all around.

Loser: Daniel Bryan

This was a good segment, as was the Funhouse segment earlier. Truthfully, Daniel Bryan's only real loss here is that this is happening too early. It almost certainly means that we won't be seeing these two have a story for WrestleMania, which many, many fans would have wanted.

Instead, it means that Bray Wyatt will dismiss Daniel Bryan by Royal Rumble at the latest, leaving Bryan's own WrestleMania plans up in the air. Ultimately, it feels like this feud will thus have an unsatisfying conclusion.

Roman Reigns is going to be the one that takes on The Fiend.

If the Yes! Movement is back, where can it go after losing this feud with Bray Wyatt? We'll simply have to see if WWE will be committed to giving Bryan a big singles match, or whether he'll be competing in one of the many multi-man matches to take place there.
