Top 5 Sellers of Moves in WWE

Lesnar is an underrated seller

Will Ospreay and Ricochet was recently in the limelight for the highly acrobatic match that they put together at New Japan Pro Wrestling. One of the main criticisms that came their way was about the lack of selling that happened during the match. Not only in the case of Will and Ricochet, the lack of selling is seen as a problem in most of the independent promotions.

The whole wrestling community most likely split whenever the topic of selling is discussed but that doesn’t mean that the art of selling is extinct. There are some excellent move sellers in the business right now and today, we are going to take a look at the top sellers in WWE.

#5 Brock Lesnar

Some might be surprised to see Lesnar on this list. And it’s a completely natural thing as Lesnar is underrated when it comes to selling. The thing is, Lesnar is built up as this big monster that no one dares to rattle. This has restricted Lesnar from showcasing how good he is when it comes to selling a move.

However, now what you know it, just go back and see some matches of Lesnar. This time, just focus on the way he takes a move rather than on how he dominates his opponent. That would be more than enough to prove that Lesnar deserves to be on this list.

#4 AJ Styles

AJ Styles is a well-travelled performer. Over the course of his career, Styles has worked with numerous promotions and met a wide array of superstars. And now, he is having a solid stay in the WWE as well. While most of us see Styles are a great wrestler, his ability to sell a move often gets undermined.

Styles is someone that could make his opponent look like a million dollars and he has been doing just that during his feuds with Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho. Styles is now all set to face John Cena next and with so much experience between them, it is probably going to end up as the feud of the year if WWE books it right.

#3 Sami Zayn

Just like Styles, Sami Zayn is someone who traveled around the world before coming to WWE. While he wrestled under a mask during his time elsewhere, Sami wrestled without one in WWE. This has actually enhanced Sami’s performance. He was a good move seller in the first place and now that he can showcase his facial expressions as well, Sami has almost perfected the art.

This is one of the reasons why Sami is a great babyface right now. He sells the move so brilliantly that is it hard to hate him when he gets hit like that. It’s still initial stages in WWE for Sami though and he has a long road ahead.

#2 Seth Rollins

You did expect the name of Seth Rollins to poke up at one point or the other didn’t you? Sting once said that Seth was one of the best performers that he worked with and we all know the string of superstars the Icon has worked with.

Rollins is top notch when it comes to putting over his opponent and this was most evident during the epic feud that he had with Dean Ambrose.

The difference between this and the Sami Zayn situation is that, whenever Seth hit the mat hard, we wanted him to hurt more because of the whole Shield break up. It was just a case of intelligent booking from WWE and these type of storylines actually compliment someone like Rollins who knows how to sell well.

#1Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler has had some excellent matches in his resume and most of this is because of the selling ability that he possesses. Some could even say that the best part about Ziggler is the way he sells the moves.

To a big extent, this is correct. Ziggler is a master when it comes to selling moves and fans who have watched his matches closely will understand the same.

And the best part is that he does all of this so effortlessly. The way in which Ziggler lets go of his body and make it behave as though he has no control over it is mighty impressive. He sells so well though that it has come back to haunt him as people have trouble believing it if he is booked strong.
