Top 5 WWE Rumors of the week and Analysis : 6 July, 2014

The rumor mill was back in full swing this week and had some big speculations about WWEs near future plans. It was Brock Lesnar who ended up being in the centre of most of the rumors that came across as he has still a lot of momentum after ending Undertakers streak at WrestleMania. The Phenom also made it to the headlines but there werent any good news for his fans. SummerSlam and WrestleMania 31 match cards were the other rumor makers of the week. Most of the rumors look like good for business moves and WWE should think about materializing them rather than letting it pass by as Internets desperation. And here is a look at the top rumors of the week and their analysis.

#5 Undertaker still not fit after his WrestleMania match

Undertaker fans who still have their hopes high about Undertaker returning for one last match was met with another roadblock which suggested that the Phenom is still not fit from his match with Brock Lesnar.

It’s been three months after the match and Taker still not recovering has let his status for WrestleMania 31 up in the air. Actually the company was planning to make Taker wrestle two or three matches as big draw ones including a dream one with Sting.

However, all that might not be happening and Taker might just hang up his boots soon. If it’s that way, the Lesnar match would be his farewell match and wouldn’t be a fitting farewell for someone who gave the fans a lot to cheer about.

#4 Brock Lesnar to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31

It’s been clear as a day that Roman Reigns is the next big thing in WWE. He has been in the title picture for someone and will be headlining a pay – per – view for the third time in a row.

Brock Lesnar on the other hand is at the epitome of wrestling business after his historical match with Undertaker at WrestleMania which earned him the status of being the streak breaker.

And the idea at this point is to make Reigns a much bigger star by making him face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE title. if everything goes good, this match is sure to materialize and will arguably be the biggest moment in the career of Roman Reigns.

#3 Stephanie McMahon to face Brie Bella at SummerSlam

Even after she got fired by Stephanie McMahon, Brie Bella is sticking around the WWE as we saw at Money in the Bank.

And the reason for this might be because the company is planning to have a match between Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella. It might also have a stipulation that Brie would get her job back if she manages to beat Stephanie.

WWE is planning to push the feud as one of the major angles for the pay – per – view and the teasing of Stephanie getting back in the ring to face Vickie Guerrero was a test to know how the fans would react if they are offered to see her wrestle again.

#2 Daniel Bryans injury is just a work

Daniel Bryan came out of Money in the Bank and talked how bad his condition is. Bryan also said that he will be going under the knife for another surgery but the word around the block is that all this could be a work from the WWE.

Bryan speaking about the weakness in his arms could just be a direct reference to the internet rumors if the whole thing is a work and Bryan might return to action as early as Battleground.

It’s going to be a big swerve if Bryan will be back soon and though WWE has plans in place for his absence; a returning Bryan will surely make SummerSlam a much bigger event with matches like Cena - Lesnar, Stephanie McMahon - Brie Bella, Randy Orton – Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho – Bray Wyatt and probably, Daniel Bryan – Triple H.

#1 Plan B is Brock Lesnar not Seth Rollins

John Cena winning the title wasn’t clearly what the Authority had in their mind. And to make matters right, they put Cena in a fatal four way match at Battleground which Hunter termed as Plan A.

He also revealed that he had a plan B incase Cena came out of Battleground as champion and since Seth Rollins is so close to the Authority, he was considered as the Plan B of the Authority now that he has a contract in his hands.

However, the latest rumors suggest that Hunter’s backup plan is none other than Brock Lesnar who is scheduled to face Cena at SummerSlam.

Lesnar aligning with the Authority is supposed to give him more heat than he already has and Rollins cashing in the contract might be put on hold till Lesnar returns back to hibernation.
