Top 10 WCW wrestlers who also worked for WWE

These WCW Superstars were also successful in the WWE

#2 Goldberg

Goldberg recently returned to the WWE

Goldberg is the biggest star that WCW ever created. They booked him to perfection from the moment of his debut where he defeated Hugh Morris. His unbeaten streak lasted 172 matches(kayfabe) and was only defeated by Kevin Nash after Scott Hall interfered with a taser.

Goldberg first won the WCW US Championship before going on to challenge Hulk Hogan for the title on an episode of Nitro at the Georgia Dome in front of his faithful Atlanta crowd. He is a former 2-time WCW US Champion but only won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship once somehow.

After WCW’s demise, Goldberg signed with the WWE in 2003 and defeated The Rock in his first WWE match and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H at Unforgiven 2003.

However, Goldberg’s time in WWE lasted only a year and his championship run was cut short due to reported backstage attitude issues. His last match for WWE came against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania XX where both men were booed out of the building by fans.

Goldberg returned to WWE last month to accept Brock Lesnar’s challenge to a match at Survivor Series 2016 which will take place in about two weeks.

#1 Ric Flair

Ric Flair is arguably the greatest professional wrestler of all time

Ric Flair was the man in WCW. He was the standard bearer of the promotion for many years and can easily be called the heart and soul of the promotion. Flair started off with ‘WCW’ during the Jim Crockett years and was with the company till the very end – other than a brief stint with WWE in the early 90s.

Flair’s classic matches against Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham and Sting are the stuff of legend and he is still considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He not only found success in WCW where he won 14 world titles but also won 2 WWE World Championships and a Royal Rumble in 1992 during his time there.

Flair wrestled with WCW till the very last Nitro, where he faced off against his old adversary Sting. After an 8-month hiatus from wrestling, Flair returned to the WWE as the “co-owner” of the WWF.

His run in WWE peaked at his work with Evolution and no one will forget Flair’s emotional retirement match against Shawn Michaels either.

Flair also won the 3 Tag-Team Championships and 1 Intercontinental Championship during this run and is a 2-time WWE Hall Of Famer.
